HAVE you talked to ur docs...this could be a sigh of serious health risks to you and baby!! try raising your feet eating less salt and keeping your blood pressure down...consult your OBGYN! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

You need to ask another doctor. I was exactly like that and my doc said nothing was wrong. A few weeks later I was being put on bedrest for toxemia and PIH. By the time I delivered I was so swollen everywhere that I couldn't even put shoes on or bend over. I went from 125 when I got pregnant to 210 when I delivered. I didn't gain any fat... just water. My feet and hands were so swollen I could feel them "slosh" when I moved them. GET A 2nd OPINION!!!!!!!

1] First pregnancy?
2] Weight gain [ how much ]?
3] BP the same? [ less than 30 over original for top number, less than 15 over original for bottom number ]
4] any visual changes? severe headache? upper belly pain?
5] if all these answers are OK, then drink ONLY WATER, except for maybe 2 coffees OR 2 teas, in the next 24 hours.
Drink about 1/2 gallon.
6] stop all salt intake - like soda, chips, cold cuts, hot dogs.
There is plenty of natural salt in our diet.
7] you may sit or stand for 15 minutes, then walk, lie down, or sit with legs above heart.
8] has your doctor seen your feet? how far up the leg is it swollen? is it sore or red in any particular spot?

Call your doctor and explain this to him/her. In the meantime please elevate your legs on a pillow and also place ice pack on it to reduce the swelling. If your doctor keeps telling you this is normal and you don't feel right go to your nearest emergency room. Especially if you can't feel your toe. It's better to be safe than sorry. Congratulations on the new baby. Hope you feel better. :-)
