I am going to look at a Rainbow System, cedar and redwood swing set today for my children. It is 10 years old and the person who is selling it said they purchased it for $2000 brand new. What is a reasonable price to pay if it is in good condition ?

If it is 10 years old I would not pay more then 500.00. Things depreciate over time, no matter what the buying price was and how good condition it is.

Whatever you do, make sure it is safe, playground systems take a lot of wear and tear and weathering over 10 years.

Make sure it meets safety standards and that there are no loose parts or wood that will give your children slivers.

Depending on the age of your children, make sure there are no places they might get their heads, arms, legs stuck as well.

Good luck!
