My 15 week old kitten just peed on the floor and I'm not sure why. I have two litter boxes and at the time he didn't have access to one of them, he hasn't been nuetered yet (his appt. is next week), and he wasn't in spray stance (I saw him do it). I didn't scold him or yell or anything because I was more concerned if there was some kind of problem, he has NEVER done this before. Any advice???

Kittens are babies. They need a lot of attention. If your kitten felt that it was not getting your attention enough, it may have urinated to get your attention.

Other reasons may be:
1. the litter needs changed
2. the kitten was frighten by someting
3. the kitten has an urinary infection
4. you have the litter boxes in places the kitten does not approve of
5. the kitten is protesting against something

I own two cats I raised from kittens. I can assure you that kittens have strong moods and oppinions. They may not speak in words, but they will with actions. Nipping, purring, scratching, clawing, vocalizing of many sounds and excreting of bodily substances are their only ways of communicating. Watch your kitten closely. Is it trying to tell you something?

One accident is no big deal. Watch and see if there are any patterns to its' behavior.

Does he usually use the one that he didn't have access to? He may not like to use the other one. He could also be beginnning to go into heat (even if he wasn't in spray stance). I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure he always has access to the box he normally uses (and that its cleaned) and the nuetering should prevent it from happening in the future. Good luck.

Make cats do not go into heat.
Make sure you tidy the cat boxes every day, and change the litter every 1 - 2 weeks, depending how stinky your cats make it.
If he pees on floor again, wipe it with a paper towel, and put the [ wee'd ] towel in the litterbox, to reinforce his training - them apply cleaner to spot, etc. Don't put anything with cleaner in his litter.
Also you can scan the towel to make sure he doesn't have any obvious problems [ blood, pus, stone, etc. ]
If he continues to do it, talk to the vet.

He was mad about something, next time you say no and put him in the box. Some cats need a little more help along the way than others just like kids.

it fairly is a undesirable thank you to handle a infant kitten!! For one ingredient, your kitty is actual too youthful to be taken from her mom. you may have waited till she became 8 weeks old, a minimum of. for yet another ingredient, it fairly is fairly abusive to rub her nostril in it and lock her up. you may no longer have her mattress, nutrients and muddle container interior the comparable place. Cats are very sparkling animals, and you does no longer decide to consume dinner next on your lavatory, could you? Have her mattress and nutrients and water dish faraway from the muddle container. of path, she is fairly youthful, so do no longer make it too a techniques away so she cant' discover it whilst she needs to. She has no theory in any respect what you attempt to tutor her (to apply her muddle container) and there is no way she would be able to study out of your therapy of her. If she frequently makes use of her muddle container, then in all probability it became grimy and needed to get replaced. it fairly is YOUR fault, no longer hers. or maybe you're feeding her incorrect and he or she has a bladder an infection. Do you supply her sparkling water daily to drink, or do you supply her cows milk, that's fairly undesirable for cats? She could be getting a milk replacer for kittens. have you ever taken her to the vet yet? you may fairly study extra approximately kitten care, attempt finding on line for extra counsel and under no circumstances attempt and "punish" her, yet be certain why she did some thing so which you would be able to repair the difficulty. you may get an enzyme based purifier for animal stains on the puppy shop and sparkling the spot the place she peed on the floor, so she does not smell it there from now on and think of it fairly is an ok spot to pass. No, she did no longer study that out of your till now strikes, have confidence me. All she could have discovered is which you're recommend and in keeping with probability a splash loopy.

Maybe the one he did have access was too dirty for HIS liking, and he prefered to have a clean one, which he couldn't get to. Thats probably why he peed on the floor.

[I forgot to mention; I'm referring to his litterbox]
