I do see a lot of signs that suggest that the second coming is going to be soon. Yet, at the same time, every generation has thought that the world would end in their lifetime. Wars, disease, poverty, crime, and etc have always made people think that it cannot get any worse and the world must end soon. However, the Bible states that Jesus will come like a thief in the night, you will not know when he comes. NO ONE will ever know when he comes until he shows up. So you should plan for the future as if you will live a long life but at the same time, make sure that you are right with the Lord at all times because you never know when he will come back.

Well, according to the bible we only truly know two things concerning the answer to your question.
1) Jesus said in Matthew 24:36 - "But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
2) But also, if you read the entire 24th chapter of Matthew, Jesus describes what will be occurring on the earth at the end of days, and what things to be looking for. Here's a small list of some of the things that He said would be happening: wars, rumors of wars, nations rising against nation, famines, plagues, and earthquakes in many places, Christians will be hated in all places because of His Name's sake, many people will be offended and hate one another, and betray one another, iniquity will abound, and the love for each other will subside. -
It doesn't take much to see that all of these things are already happening in our world, and it's only getting worse. We can all agree that it's true. I also think that everything is accellerating now towars the end. So yes, I do believe that the Second Coming of Christ will indeed happen in our lifetime, and when He does come, because I believe in the rapture of the Church, I believe that He will take all of us out of here, and then from heaven, we will watch as the rest of the earth literally goes to hell.
All I can say, is I'm so glad that I am a Christian in this day and age, and that I know where I am going when it's all said and done!

There's an old story about a foggy day in New England when the state legislature was in session. Actually, this fog was very dark and dense and continued on for several days. At one point, an assemblyman proposed that the session be adjourned and that all present should go home to prepare for the Second Coming. Another assemblyman objected, saying, "I believe that if Christ is returning, it would be better if he found us going about our business."
There is a strong admonition among Paul's letters about people who count on the Lord's return to the neglect of their active participation in the community, something about "being busy" vs "being busybodies". It's good advice. The Good News is about caring for the needy, comforting the powerless, easing suffering, not being "righteous". Those who look forward intently to the end of things have a tendecy to attach an inordinate amount of significance to the "signs" that are always present, and even express an interest in bringing such things about, to the neglect of their Christian duties. This is an arrogant attempt to force God's hand and can only lead to human mischief.
God has his own time and doesn't confide it in us, anywhere. Jesus only mentioned judgment to remind his followers about what's important, not "winning" but "doing". Those who dig through the apocalyptic books for clues to God's ultimate plans are wasting time and effort when they could be building up the Kigdom of God. Speculation about "when" is self-indulgent and self-deluding. Thousands have tried it and thousands have been proven wrong.

in accordance to Revelations, there is not any special time wherein the Rapture will happen. even even though it does say that it will take place quickly, that fact comes from God, who's immortal, and likewise says that a human's lifetime is fairly like the blink of an eye fixed.

Yes, but I sure wish the trib would hold off till I die of old age. It is suppose to start during the generation of Israel becoming a nation again (1948) and a biblical generation is 70 years, giving us until 2018 for things to heat up. Since I realize there is no pre-trib rapture, I'm not looking forward to it.

READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, that's the way we need to live our lives. After all, that's the way the Apostle Paul lived his. Read 1 Thessalonians 4:17 where he speaks of the rapture. He says, then "we which are alive and remain." He really believed Jesus would come in his lifetime. Maybe that's why he accomplished so much for God. Oh, that we had his passion.

The answer to your question is in the Bible
".....no one knows the day or hour...."
We do not know whether we will see Christ's Second Coming or not.
All I can tell is that there is nothing seen or stated that has caused me to think that Christ is not who He said he is, or that anything regarding Christianity is something I should question.
I do know, for myself, that when I pass away, I will face God, who will consider my entrance into Heaven or not. This is enough to say that I will see Christ in my future.
Whether we see the Second Coming, or not, is truly secondary to your indiviual situation in the eyes of God.

Because it can happen at any time we can only hope it happens during our life time . Yet over the years I have ceased being consumned by the thought for as the word says :the dead in Christ shall rise first and them that remain shall be called up together: there for my aim is just to be ready for either scenerio.

No one knows the day or hour. We can only speculate. I would keep your eye out for any potential anti-Christs...that will give us some sort of indication, but right now things are getting worse ad worse. More and more people doubt God and I think that is an indicator that we might be close to an end...it might not be in my life time...but I think it will be in my grandchildren's life time or before.
