Because this section allows for the most judging.
Ironic too. I thought the point of religion was to leave the judging up to a higher power.

Deep down we all have a god shaped hole that needs to be filled with none other than Jesus Christ. The Christians know what that feels like to be filled. The others are seeking and just don't know it.
They feel the tug between good and evil and they slam what they don't understand. Most of the anger is from atheists and non believers. They will say otherwise, but I have read the different posts.
The Christians sometimes preach back or offer up smart alec comments. But the real hatred is from some of the atheists and non believers.
Jesus warned us that others would hate us because of our belief in him. I have come to realize that fact on this site.

I am a mainline Christian. I value Scripture, Tradition, Reason and Human Experience as past, present and ongoing revelations of God in human life. The problem is really with someone leaving the door open and all of these self-righteous, sanctimonious, ignorant, scum sucking, Jerry Falwell, Ted Haggard, right-wing, fundamentalist, Christofacists came in.
Ignorance knows no bounds ... and these hypocrites who are sooooooooooooo certain the know THE TRUTH . . . are among the most ignorant. They believe in an unreflective LITERAL word for word translation of the Bible. How stupid. I'm really repulsed by these idiots and the damage the cause people who struggle with their faith and how they cause others to judge ALL Christians as irrelevant and "crazies."

Religion is such a personal thing, and so when people argue over it, there tends to be anger that comes out.
I also think that with the things that have been done in the world in the name of religion, a lot of which has been negative, it strikes at peoples emotions.

Why is there so much dicord and dicontentment amongst all religions? I would say we all need to be more tolerant and understanding of each other. Afterall Christ didn't say that everyone sucked. Rather he loved and did all he could to bring people together and heal up the broken bodies and broken hearts. When can we get to where we represent Him in like manner?
I think because we all want to protect that which we hold so dear and sometimes here it feels like your beliefs are under attack from all sides. So everyone goes into defense and fight mode to protect that which is so dear to them.

There's way more anger in some categories like current events.
Atheist vs Christian has NOTHING on Libtards vs Repugnicans, and be thankful for that.
Then there is the hunting category, where people with guns have to deal with people coming in with ZOMG WHY RU ALL MURTERERTS GUNS R 4 EVIL PPL ONLY U SHULD SHOOT URSELFS.
Ugh...

Because so many people feel the need to convince others that their religion is better instead of just deciding to live peacefully and make friends with people. Religion is also power and it is misused all the time. I kind of like it though. It makes people stop and think more about what they believe in.

Because christians preach a gospel of love, imposed by the most cruel means possible at the time.
This is confusing.

Faith is really personal. When you insult someone faith, they feel its an insult to them. Some of them were taught that their way is the only way, therefor its okay to be mean to people. Some people are just angry people. Everyone wants to be right, but sometimes I wonder at what cost?

Because religion is at the heart of nearly every human conflict throughout history, and continues to be today.
It is the last, and perhaps the most potent, divisive factor in human society today.
