We just got two kittens, one is a tan/brown/white calico cat, which my family named Cally.
The other one is black with a white spot of hair just below its neck in the front. I'm not sure what to name it. I want something unique with a meaning. Not too unique, but at least somewhat.
My only idea so far is Kiara, which means small and dark.
Any suggestions? Thanks!!

It is a girl, by the way.
And my real name is not Kiara as it says. I'm not trying to name a cat after myself, lol!

Oreo always works for an animal with black and white althow its not very unique. You should stick with Kiara thats cute and it has a good meaning;.

Kiara does not mean dark, it means the opposite, at least in Italian and spanish. It;s a beautiful name for a cat anyway. How about Selene, it is the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology. It is pronounced with the accent on the second e. The first e is pronounced as in the word bed and the 2 last e are pronounced as in the word deep.

I have two male cats. I looked at their personalities and their markings to choose their names. My older cat is Oswin. He is named after a character in an Ellis Peters series of books about Benedictine monks. Brother Oswin is a compassionate and friendly person who would never think of hurting anyone. My small cat has that sweet personality.
My younger cat is called Professor. He has markings on his face that remind me of eye glasses. He is a serious hunter. He studies things very cafeully before he decides to move.
I like the names because, as you said, they needed their own unique names that suited them. No one else I know has cats named like mine. When I call my cats everyone in the neighborhood knows what cat should be coming to me.
Choose a name that you like enogh to say for years to come, that has meaning for you and suits your cat.

I have a cat that looks exactly the same ! My family Named her Bear aand it fits her great. She is just the opposite of a bear though she is friendly and tolerant. I think a good idea would be Bear.

I think Kiara is cute. How about Jewel? The little white spot could be her little "jewel."
