I had scanned a picture of a drawing, and with my scanner's settings (HP Scanjet 5550c), it automatically converted the picture to Adobe PDF. When I tried to upload it onto the Internet (I wanted to use it as my Yahoo! Answers avatar and put it up on my MySpace page), it wouldn't allow it because it is in the pdf. format. Is there any way I can convert the picture into JPEG, or any picture format regularly used for the Internet?

Yep! You can use that lil' camera tool on the PDF page, outline the photo, then copy. Then open up your favorite graphics program (like Photoshop, PaintshopPro, or whatever) and open up a NEW image, and paste the copied image into the NEW image and SAVE AS a jpg!

do you have adobe acrobat or just acrobat reader?

if you have the full version of acrobat you can do a "save-as" and choose .jpg as the format and save ...

if that doesn't work, open the pdf file and adjust it's size so that the entire picture is viewable on your monitor ... hit the "print screen" button on your keyboard .... open up mspaint, go to edit and then click "paste" crop/clip as required to just get the picture and then save it as a .jpg file
