I would suggest that a GP is not the doctor to be treating you with mental health drugs. See a psychiatrist, they are much more proficient with the medications available and how someone might react. Much better than playing "try this, try that" with a GP.

See a psychologist, they are trained to find the right mental health drug for people. Regualar doctors do not keep up with different medications relating to mental health issues. A lot of times the psychiatrist will know exactly what medication or what combination of medication is right for you, within the first five minutes of meeting you.

a gp can suggest alot of things but for mental health it is better that you see a board certified psychiatrist. i've taken several drugs for bipolar and everyone of them will state the side effects but the real effect is when it is consumed by you and how it affects you. when you stop a med make sure that dr know immediately so they can perscribe something else. goodluck and take care of yourself.

If the medication is given you side effects you need to stop taking it and call your doctor. It might take a while to find the medication that agrees with you but dont give up.
