I don't know your gender so not sure about your risk of pregnancy. But, as far as the risks to yourself: - Your chance of increased fat in your blood (triglycerides) is ~25%, decreased good cholesterol (15%) and increased bad cholesterol (7%). These changes were reversible when people stopped Accutane. This is one of the reasons they check your blood- for cholesterol. -mild to moderate elevations of liver enzymes (which are signs of short-term liver damage) have been observed in approximately 15% of individuals treated during clinical trials, some of which normalized with dosage reduction or continued administration of the drug. This is another reason they check your blood. - In a study 47 out of 217 patients (22%) had changes in the density (hardness) of some of their bones after 1 dose. Longer-term studies have not yet been done. The rest of the side effects listed unfortunately don't have %s of patients who experienced it in clinical trials. The above information is according to the manufacturer's data (package insert for the medication). Another website (a professional medication information database called LexiComp) said that the frequency of side effects is not defined for most of the known side effects, but it did add this: Neuromuscular & skeletal: Back pain (29% in pediatric patients) -I'm a pharmacist

each person is unique...there simply is no way to predict how you may or may not react to a medication. Knowing the possible reactions others have had simply alerts you to the possibility so you know if you need to see a doctor or stop taking the drug.
