Agreed. I detest it when you ask a thought provolking question and get a response like "duh thats just dum cuz god sed we were made and didnt come from monkies."

it isn't limited to Christians, but I certainly see it enough to be disturbed by it.

Hi Twinkie,
I do not understand why anyone would act in such a manner. I am especially upset that any person calling themself a Christian would do so. I do not agree with the attitude of a number of people on this site but I have found a number of people here to be quite helpful and have great attitudes toward others when we get to know them. I have found a number of great people who claim to be Christian, Atheists, Agnostics, Followers of Islam, and Judaic Individuals who are willing to share a great amount of information that they have in a number of religious areas. I have seen a lot of bickerring between groups and feel really bad that I have actually answered a couple of questions in rather short ways when my blood sugars were unbelievably out of control. I love people and I love our FATHER. HE is the reason that I am as positive about life as I am. Have a wonderful week. I hope that you get an answer to your question but I imagine that some people will not be as positive as they should.
Thank you,
Eds, A simple Christian.,

EDIT...

Beverly,
As always, you are such a positive example for our young people. Please don't quit being the person that you are! GOD loves you and I do too.

Betty,
That is not a very Christ-like answer is it??.

EllieBear,
Your response was wonderful. Thank you so much for being so positive. It really madse me feel great just reading what you wrote!

Let's not stereotype here. This is true of some Christians, but not of others. As with any religion (or lack thereof), you're gonna find some people who get belligerent when their beliefs are questioned, and there will be others who answer intelligently or choose not to answer at all.

Regarding those who respond to questions with insults, I think the answer is pretty obvious: they're either immature in their faith, or they're not truly Christian.

Why do you pick out just the Christians to insult with this question when in fact there are all kinds of trolls here who post insults in response to questions?

That would seem to be the best plan of action. However, I feel that many of the answers to questions ( especially if they are quite insulting) are more of a child like response than anything else. Think of it as, I am rubber you are glue whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you.

No. The devil is a LIAR and he would PREFER that we keep our mouths shut. However, we shall NOT remain silent. Jesus told us to "go into all the world and preach the good news". If ones spirit doesn't want to accept good news, then they will reject it and go on with their life in folly. If you feel I'm "insulting" you for asking a question, then that's the spirit of the devil for rejecting what I'm trying to answer for you. The sadducees and pharasees were the same way, they rejected what was being explained to them and they continued on in their own useless/clueless lives, killing the one that had brought them good news because their spirits weren't willing to accept it.

I'm not a Christian, but I think most of them do it because it's an automatic reaction to make their religions/beliefs seem better/more accurate than yours. I'm sure they don't mean any harm. All of us get defensive every now and then if we truly believe in or care about something.

So, you've noticed only the Christians being insulting or offensive?

I think this happens with anyone, it is not just a Christian thing.
If I can not answer a question, personally I just don't. I try to never be rude, although I am sure it has happened when responding to someone who has asked a rude, hate filled question.

I agree that this can happen.
but a better question would be "Atheists: Why do you insult Christians just for believing what they believe?"
