Yes, talk to your GYN about one of the new birth control pills that stabiizes the hormones. This is not birth control per se but hormone balancing. And the GYN may have a "natural" enzyme that will help.
Naturally, a week before your menses cut out the salt, which has been shown to affect moods during menses.

It sounds like you need to take time for yourself. If you want to take a medication, Pamprin or Midol work pretty well. Also you can talk to your doctor, there are new medications that works specifically for PMS symptoms. Some things you can try without medication are taking a long hot bath while listening to some relaxing music, exercise (like going for a walk or doing some yoga), write in a journal, take a nap, watch a movie, listen to music, etc. If you can, take time by yourself. Sometimes being around other people during this time of the month makes me more cranky. You might feel better if you can be alone. I'm not sure if this is possible in your household, but you might need to talk to your mom about what you're going through and what you think might help you. Remember that the body needs more rest during this time too, so don't skimp on that. Also make sure to drink plenty of water and try taking a vitamin supplement. It's been shown that calcium helps with cramps so make sure you get plenty of that too. Hope this helps!

I too suffer from really extreme PMS; I'm like a demented banshee!
There are some natural remedies. Evening Primrose Oil is meant to be good, though you may have to take it for several weeks before you see any improvement.
You could also go to a herbalist; they will be able to give you some herbal remedies that can help.
Diet is also important. In the ten days prior to your period, cut out all the junk food, caffeine etc. Drink plenty of water - 8 glasses a day is the general rule - and eat lots of fruit and veg.
Ultimately if none of the natural approaches works, then I can tell you for sure that anti depressants get rid of PMS almost totally. Prozac is very good for it, though it didn't get rid of the pain for me, but it did 'cure' all the other PMS symptoms.

Sex helps, also exercise can help too (natural). Try using Pamprin over the counter, that helps also (medication).
