All of the music is in spanish and a large number of the congregation speak spanish only. An interpretation device can be warn but I find it difficult to block out what is going on around me so I can hear what is being said through my earpiece. My husband enjoys the worship experience and wants me to attend with him. I feel the language difference is a huge barrier to overcome so I do not go with him. Since I have no other place to worship and I don't want to go alone I just stay at home...alone. My husband has offered to go to a church that I like on Saturday or Sunday night with me but none of the ones we try are good enough. This is driving a wedge in our relationship! Any ideas??

He's being pretty inconsiderate if he doesn't see why it would be hard for you to get anything worthwhile out of this. Is there a similar service during an English service--translation into Spanish with an earpiece? If so, have him try to sit through that sermon, pretending he knows little English. If he's at all thoughful, he'll see how you feel quickly.

If the church offers both kinds of services, and many do, why not go to the same church, but alternate weeks?

And of course learning Spanish would be a good idea since he's learned some English, but it's not going to be an instant thing for you. That's like telling a plus-size woman who wonders where to find a cute dress for next week's party to stop whining, get a size 8 and diet down to it. I have also married someone who speaks English as a second language, so I can sympathize with you there.

Go to both sermons in Spanish and English, now the problem is finding a congregation that you like in English. That you gotta find on your own. But most churches offer both languages.

I myself speak both languages fluently, with no accent. but I prefer Spanish mass. I have tried English mass but it seems real boring, and apathetic.

The concept the priest is trying to get through is the same in either language, tolerance, love, etc.

But in Spanish it's more animated, and you feel at peace even if your sitting next to your mortal enemy.

I really am answering you seriously and trying to be helpful, so please don't take this the wrong way - maybe you could learn to speak enough Spanish to get by for the worship? Lots of the liturgy is repetitive anyway.... Good luck (really!)

good we could simply say solar day "is" the sabbath, (it Isn't) however we could simply say it's for the sake of this question...the persons who attend offerings on solar day do NOT honor nor don't forget it as an afternoon of Worship and leisure considering EVERY solar day I see them on the retail outlets or fueling up or out to consume, you already know, all of the matters we've got SIX different days for...hmmmm it is like..uh k we positioned our time in now we could cross and do that n' that!!! that is NOT what God gave us His Sabbath for persons:-( God's HOLY seventh Day Sabbath used to be YESTERDAY persons, you overlooked it:-( the Sabbath is fundamental considering it continues us interested by the truth that God is the Creator. 1Chronicles sixteen:26/Psalm ninety six:five & Jeremiah 10:eleven,12 features out what units God aside from fake gods is His ingenious capability. fake gods can't create anything out of not anything. niether can devil, for this reason he hates the 4th Commandment, features out he isn't a truly god he could love to sit down on the Throne, Isaiah 14:12-14, for that reason why he has labored via "guy" to difference worship to solar day. "Call the sabbath a satisfaction, the holy of the Lord." Isaiah fifty eight:thirteen. "For the son of guy is Lord even of the sabbath day." Matthew 12:eight. The Bible speaks of the "Lord's day" in Revelation one million:10, so the Lord does have a exact day. But no verse of Scripture refers to Sunday because the Lord's day. Rather, the Bible evidently identifies Sabbath because the Lord's day. The best day ever blessed through the Lord or claimed through Him as His holy day is the 7th-day Sabbath.

Learn Spanish, or don't go to church, or go to another church. It's not a date -- you don' have to do everything together.
