I have some strawberries sliced with a small amount of sugar starting to ferment can i still make jam w/them?

Yes, but you had better move on it. Jam will be a bit tarter when the berries change but within the next day, they will start to mold--if they haven't already, then it's too late to do anything other than to toss them out. Hope it's not too late!
