I have three meals a day plus snacks in between and yet I still have a huge appetite. I'm 29 years old and at my ideal weight and height so can't figure out what's causing this and I'm NOT pregnant.

At each meal (and snacks too) I always have both protein and carbohydrates, but just 2 hours later I'm ravenous again and when I'm hungry I feel weak and nauseous and irritable. (been checked for diabetes and thyroid - everything is ok).

Any ideas??

I am not an active person. I'd say I do moderate to light activity throughout the day.

The nauseous and irritable sound like hormones. Low blood sugar will cause that as well, but so can other things. When you were checked for diabetes, did they do a fasting blood sugar, a finger stick or a glucose tolerance test? You can have a stray "normal" blood sugar and still have insulin issues.

I'd get checked again - your diet sounds good, but something has to be going on, especially if this is fairly recent.

Good luck!

Sometimes a person's body is telling them they are hungry, when in fact they are dehydrated. Try drinking water and other beverages between meals. Another thing I would suggest trying is taking a Multi-Vitamin every day.

Carbohydrates turns to sugar and burns off quickly for some people. I would also encourage trying to cut down on carbohydrates a little bit and try some type of energy drink or other means of protein.

Your metabolism may be very high and you may use a lot of energy and exercise. If this is the case, increase your meal sizes a little bit.

Have you been checked for low blood sugar? It could also be hormones. Have you noticed any kind of pattern or is it just all the time?

You may have intestinal worms. Get some worm tablets from the chemist . Worth a go , nothing to loose.
