Cause it never happened.

Because the ascension is really a part of a different era than the gospels - the apostolic era. It happened forty days after the resurrection, which is outside the time frame the synoptic gospels are generally interested in.

The ascension is covered by the author of the Gospel of Luke in the separate Book of Acts of the Apostles - which covers the apostolic era.

Its like you're asking why certain people are black and others are white. Why some are brown, while others are red. Why some are nice while others are harsh and rude! The Gospels were written by different people! If one said Jesus wept, and the other Jesus cried, what difference does it make!?! Its the same thing! Oh in case you're wondering, I'm a Christian and I don't waste my time asking irrelevant questions. The only reason why I replied to this one is because I wanted to put some sense into all this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sort of a rhetorical question on your part, don't you think?

But here's how I see it.

The four Gospels represent four different accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ -- each one composed with a different goal. Nonetheless, the focus in each of them is on what he did during his time on earth, and how he suffered, died, was buried, and was resurrected. They aren't intended to focus on the post-Incarnation happenings. And the culmination of the Incarnation was the Resurrection, not the Ascension: all four Gospels agree that Jesus Christ was Resurrected.

Put another way, the Ascension was (to a certain extent) the punctuation at the end of the sentence. One might as well ask why we don't make periods larger.

Well, I think that it particularly pertains to the Catholics because when you think about it , here are two angels there who would normally seem like they are being snotty when they say "What are you looking at? ---He'll be back the same way" (more or less that's what they say anyway). But the thing is they KNOW people are upset so why would they say such a thing like it was ignoring the fact that they were upset? The only reason is because they were being glad and trying to be reassuring because they knew that at every breaking of the bread (at Mass) they would be with him again. He comes down from Heaven the same way as he went up in the Mass as he IS the Bread that comes down from Heaven.

How many accounts do you need to convince you? The Book of Acts records His ascension, as well. If you had two witnesses to an event, both agreeing, how valid would you consider their testimony to be? What about 500? Three out of the first five books of the NT record this event. The Bible seems to be the only book that has to reconfirm and re-reconfirm its authenticity. It's not consistent with the way we regard other historical books.

Another question by some one who really doesn't want to know truth. Why do the different sects of Muslims kill each other? why do communist not tolerate thought outside of strict control? Why are some Christians taught that only they ( their sect) will get to heaven and none other? Why does superman wear red? Do you really want some one to give you a definitive answer? Is there answers for all our questions being secretly " hidden" by some group of enlightened believers? I doult it. think you are going to discover the secret of life here? If you don't believe in a god why worry, this is all there is and a millions questions won't make it better. If you do believe, you'll get to ask him.......

Because they were written 30 to 120 years after it happened. They made up a lot of it and the rest was rumor.
