Drinking water will help get rid of any toxins and any excess fluid in your body, making you feel alot slimmer, but, unfortunately not drinking water alone will not give you that flat tummy everyone seeks. Remember drink at least 2 litres of water a day, and more on hot days and days you exercise. The only way to get a flat tummy are, healthy balanced diet, exercise and core workouts. Good luck in getting that flat tummy, keep drinking the water!

Drinking water is healthy for you but drinking water alone is not enough to tone the body. You have to exercise and eat right too!
I drink at least 144 ounces of water a day (yes, I pee alot!) and I doubt that alone is enough to give you a flat stomach. Water is the only thing I drink aside from a glass of cranberry juice in the morning and it's the only beverage I drank growing up with the exception of the glass of juice in the morning.
Think about it: if drinking water gave you a flat tummy there would be a LOT more flat stomached people running around the streets!!!

Sorry, it doesn't work that way... You need to reduce your caloric intake, and increase your exercise level. Excessive water consumption will simply cause your body to pee away (literally) valuable minerables and vitamins. Some of the vitamins and minerals that the body most needs are water soluable. Incidentally, while taregted exercises don't work as advertised, targeting your abs will provide you with a firm base, so you will *help* to reduce a "pooch" from non-flab sources (i.e.: your organs pushing against the abdominal wall, etc). If you have ever yo-yo dieted, the bulge at the belt could be from a build-up of adipose tissue above the muscles, or on the organs of the abdomen. In any case...certain types of tea actually do have some health benefits, and even though (some) have twice the caffine of coffee, the body deals with the caffine differently for some reason, so the tea (generally) has less of an impact than the coffee. One last note to keep in mind...a half litre of soda has approximately 10tsps of sugar in it. Most juices are also heavily sugared as well. On the diet front... So-called "Detox Diets" are one of the more dangerous forms of diets out there, and regardless of what anyone claims...THEY DON'T WORK. Keep in mind that "Diet" is something you live, not something you go on to loose weight.

COLD water does indeed burn calories. Your body has to bring it up to temprature to process it and that burns calories. That alone won't do it though.
