my bf and i had been on bad terms and he stop being affectionate with me and gentle and when we chatted online today, i asked him if the time for our date was good and he said 'yes baby' - he can be sarcastic at times but lately he has been acting like he wants to change.

yeh i think its a good sign he's willing to change....if he said instead..."yes babe" it shows a bit of direspect towards females....but because he called you baby...it shows that he is trying to be affectionate.....=]

You don't change his mind. Instead you'd better determine whether or not he really wants a family. I know it sounds harsh, but if he really doesn't every want children you'd both be better off finding other partners. I don't think his wanting to wait is strange. Marriage is a big enough adjustment without rushing to add a baby to the mix. Besides, how are you going to go through a pregnancy, deliver and raise a child while keeping your "great job"? It sounds like you're being a little unrealistic about what it will be like to have a child.

Yes baby means yes baby just like hiya baby means hiya baby, baby is a term of affection my man always calls me baby, maybe the dust is starting to settle between you two and things are going to get back to normal, lives too short to be falling out, sort it out and get your love back on track!

It means he is all ready thinking about what happens after the date, but tuned out everything else. Yes (the time is good) baby (jeez I better be on my best behaviour if I want to get some after the date) LOL welcome to the mind of a male.

Well I usually say "baby" when I want her to know I care or i I'm trying to be cute or whatnot...

Don't read too much into it though, it could just be out of habit.
Trying to understand a person through text is misleading, so wait til you're face to face to judge the way he feels.

He said this online? Then you wouldnt know if it was sarcastic or honest.

You could tell by his voice but not by just reading his words. I think you know deep down if it is over nor not.

haha! guys are funny and sometimes had to read. yes baby can mean many things. maybe he was busy. or maybe he was saying it because you have asked him before. or maybe he was just keeping it simple. or maybe he doesn't really want to go. guys are very confusing unless you talk to them in person. i can only read what my hubby really means by his facial expressions. or his voice

I say, he meant "yes, baby." How much more straightforward could he have been? Good luck on your date!
