She'll be fine. AND no, she won't develop into a biter just because she licked a wound.

Dog's do that instinctively. It's their wild way of cleaning wounds - and were this ancient stone-aged times, I'd say you were lucky in that her cleaning your wound might actually be beneficial. At least a dog's mouth would have probably been cleaner than the muck-water in the local stream or pond.

However, this is modern times. And we are aware that even dog saliva carries bacteria - which can be infectious. SOOO, Wash your wound thoroughly with soap and warm (not hot) water. Pat it dry and put a clean bandage on it. Just like mummy told you.

Tell Fifi thanks for being a good nurse, but you'll take it from here.

Your dog wont get sick, and he wont go crazy for the taste of blood, thats just a bit of silly propaganda spread by ignorant people with no clue as to how a dogs mind works. By the way, in a wild pack, if the alpha member is hurt and bleeding, the lower pack members will help to clean the wound by licking it, its a submissive gesture of worry and care on the lower ranking dogs part, a bit like grooming in apes and monkeys.

the two a type of city myths are thoroughly untrue. The mouth of any creature holds the main micro organism aside from epidermis, so which you will not desire your dogs to lick any open wounds. once you eat a juicy steak do you affiliate that with a desire for a bloodthirsty rampage? lol. No, canines basically study to maul cattle whilst they even have killed some thing like a calf or sheep. Even then, its the excitement of the chase moreso than the nutrition it supplies. incredibly, in case you have a dogs thats killed some thing in the previous, he's probable to do it returned, yet he won't affiliate a uncooked bone with animals. I mean, city toddlers do no longer quite relise the place their meat comes from, niether will your dogs.

your dog will be fine. A little bit of dried blood from your thumb is seriously unlikely to do anything at all to your dog.

Nothing.

It's not a big deal at all.

All of those things you hear about dogs going crazy when they taste blood is completely and totally not true.

Just like your earlier answer about pit bulls being the most vicious dogs.

But I suppose your ability to seperate fact and fiction has just been clarified...

Are you afraid he will attack you? I dont understand the question. He is not going to be sick, just think about when your dog kills animals in the backyard. I'm sure he tastes blood then, plenty of it.

it wont hurt your dog and you wont wake up to her trying to bit you for more blood..natually animals are drawn to the taste and smell of the blood but thats it..

Immediately...run to the bathroom...slap some neosporin and a band-aid on the cut and go hug your dog.

it has been proven that dog licking is a good treatment for bleeding wounds - don't worry...unless your dog accquires a taste for blood and kills you.
