Personally, I would never give any more than a second chance. If you have to keep forgiving over and over then it's an issue that will never get better for you. It will only get worse. We all make mistakes, but who says that this other person even feels remorse. You are a push-over if you keep on getting taken for the same problem. If you are meant to be together then it will work out for you later down the road. Give him (?) some time to grow up.

Right now. If you just cant let go then youneed to have a serious talk with them. You dont need to be putting up with any bullshit and if he needs second or neverending chances then he dosnt really care about you. You need to find someone who will honor you and treat you like a queen and no 2nd chances!!

Your question is brief but from my analysis, NOW is the time to stop hoping. Relationships are very difficult even when everything is going right ahead of marriage, so why try to force something that will just return to the same old problems?

It depends on what they've done and at what point you feel like you're losing your self respect in the relationship. You can lose everything else in a relationship and still look at yourself in the mirror but never lose your self respect.
If it's something small like they forgot to meet you at a certain time maybe they're forgetful if they cheated they probably shouldn't have been given a second chance.

As soon as you no that in your heart that this isn't for me. When the relationship has become so messy that both of you cannot communicate to each other. You have lost hope in trying to forgive and give it another chance. Sometimes time has it hold for us to love or be happy.

Depends on what is happening.
Violence -- first time should be the last time, sorry! Seen WAY too much of that here in Family Court.
Lesser offenses -- make it clearly known that this is the LAST time -- and STICK with it. If not, you are sending mixed messages that will only lead to repeated misbehavior.

Sounds like this person isn't taking your feelings in consideration if they keep doing things that need to be forgiven for. It seems like they are only doing what they want regardless of you. You need to sit down, have a serious talk, and try again. If this person hurts you again, stand up for yourself and leave. Sounds like you've been hurt enough. You deserve someone that respects you and your feelings.

since you are using the phrase ' never ending chances' that explains your situation very well.
i suppose now is the time to stop it and reconsider your relationship.

What I've learned in this life is not to expect but to hope instead. Having said this, never give up hope.
