don't you just hate neighbours, maybe he will drop dead soon, leave the telly or radio on for your dog. you could pretend to leave and see how much your dog is barking, is it all the time you go out or did something disturb the dog. just remember that they are protecting the house and dogs do bark

Don't leave him outside while your gone, it's a bad idea.

With my dogs, (I have a beagle and they bark a lot) I would make them come in when they would start continuously barking. What I would do is give them a treat if they were good outside (IE. went potty, didn't chew anything up, and were relatively quiet), but if they were doing a lot of barking I would call them in with a firm tone of voice and not give them a treat. In time they realized that if I heard them barking and had to call them in that not only was I upset but they also didn't get a treat. They still bark at passers by but they keep it to a minimum. Generally it's one or two barks and then they quiet down. This does take some time because it is hard for the dog to learn how much barking you will tolerate.

I can see why the neighbor gets mad. I love my dog alot and I know when we go on vacation and he is lonely-he barks. Before you leave for work-take your dog on a vigorous walk or run. This will release some of his pent-up energy so that he can relax for awhile. I watch the dog whisperer ALOT!!! Then give him a nylabone to chew -it lasts a long time.He probably is bored. Exercise really does help adjust behavior. Good luck!!!

When my dog was barking a lot we used a muzzel and it worked he didnt like the muzzel so he stopped barking. Or you could by a horn that makes a very loud screeching sound and everytime he barks use the horn and it will bother his ears and make your dog stop barking. Dogs have really good hearing so loud noises bother them. Try one of these methods and if they don't work write me and I'll see if I can find another solution.

I had the same problem with my dog whilst i was at work, someone made a complaint to my local council and i received a warning letter from them, i didn't know anything about this until i received the letter! I am lucky because my neighbour offered to look in on my dog while I am at work and it seems to work. have you tried making sure your dog has lots of toys and chews to keep it occupied? if you live in a council flat they can class it as a breach of tenancy agreement and kick you out if it doesn't stop and they keep getting complaints, not sure about who people complain to for private houses.

All you're able to do is call Animal administration. yet all they might do is warn them if its under no circumstances been suggested earlier. I actual have a neighbor calling in me all the time. yet she purely does it to be recommend via fact my canines not often bark. and that i'm no longer in easy terms saying that to make myself and my canines look good. yet the place I stay, all I could do is factor out all the different canines in my community, there is in all probability one hundred or extra, and tell them to tutor its my canines. yet there is likewise a gadget that emits ultrasonic sound waves everytime a canines barks. you purely carry it up outdoors. The canines does not like the noise, so it is going to give up barking. it fairly works on neighbor's canines too. good luck.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/7q5sH

For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.

a dog flap would help as your dog could go back and forth outside whenever they felt the need.

legally environmental health could serve notice on you about the dog which would probably mean getting rid of it.

If i were you i would speak to your neighbour and explain that you plan to try things to stop this happening but its not gonna stop over night.

i dont think he can do anything about it, the most is probably call rspca but they will just see he is being well looked after and leave.
Where in the house does he stay? does it have access to a garden? any chance of putting a dog flap so he can go outside when he wants to? if not lots of toys to keep him entertained!
