It depends on what you really enjoy. In the summer a long swim in a quiet pool is nice but not if you don't like to swim! You have to find what relaxes YOU. Try lots of stuff. When I was 18 I realized I had trouble relaxing and started reading and listening to classical music to help me get to sleep. Worked great but I still get tired when I read and listen to music! If your over stressed - make sure you lay off or quit the caffeine, cokes, etc. Don't get too hungry, angry, lonely or tired. Take care of yourself. You have to find a place where you can get away from it all. Stretching is really good too and deep breathing. Most people do not realize that when they are stressed that they are hyperventilating or not breathing deep and slow enough. Take a deep slow breath!

Just keep trying different HEALTHY things to relax until you find something. Just don't make it dependent on someone else. Sex (at least with someone else) isn't good cause they might not always be there, or willing. I even found a place to hide and relax at work. Healthy selfishness is good. Learn to say no.

Do whatever your favorite past time is. Here are a few of my suggestions:
Running, Drawing, Gardening, Writing, Reading, Meditating, Playing Music, Listening to Music, Pottery. They are more relaxing, as for stress relief:
Boxing, Running, Swimming, Violent Video Games, Tennis, Paint-Balling (I'm quite serious) etc. Things that take a lot of energy or concentration seem to help me.

For me, I find swimming laps gets all the stress out and afterwards I am relaxed, even sometimes getting what they call the "runners high" from the endorphins released during the activity.

I love to turn my radio on really loud and singing to the song. It stinks when there is nothing good on. (Think Jerry Maquire)... I also like to cut the grass. It helps me think through the problem. Making my yard looks nice is just an added bonus!
