One thing I saw in a bridal magazine that looked so amazingly easy....
It was a frame--wood 4 sides kinda deal, probably 2 by 4s painted black. They had taken christmas lights and strung it down the inside, top to bottom. All the wires were straight so it looked whimsical. They had about 4 of these, one was really tall (probably 6 ft). All of them were behind a veil, sheer, or mosquito netting--hard to tell in the picture and the way the lights twinkled it looked like a water fall. It was gorgeous!
You could also put up sashes of color by the entrance ways--like a silk drape. Then it would look more like an Arabian tent. I saw one on tv--that show Platinum weddings--where they draped the ceiling and the walls inside the tent with a blue sheer fabric.
And I love the paper lantern idea as well. Especially the smaller rectangular ones. I think those look great. They have larger circular ones that you could use as centerpieces on the tables as well.
Consider oriental trading company. They have lots of ideas.

Well, if you want to do things yourself to save money, you can find chinese white paper lanterns online. They are gorgeous at night under a tent. That's what we did. Our wedding was in a garden at 5:30pm then we had the reception under a tent. The tent was lit up with tiny christmas lights and had the white chinese lanterns hanging down w/ the lights in them. It was very romantic and classy looking. You can also use the 4 poles holding up the tent to wrap matching fabric that goes w/ your wedding colors.

You can purchase chiffon or tulle at any fabric store to be used to decorate the support poles of the tent. Flowers and candles are ideal and simple but most of all definitely add LIGHTING...very romantic! By the way, you can always hire a tent decorator, they do a great job and are very reasonable in price. *Congratulations*

I got alot of my decorations at Garden Ridge and the dollar stores.. You will be amazed at what you can find there cheap..
Make cones and place flowers inside them and dangle them from the tent.
Edge the tent in tulle or fabric.
In the inside of the tent dangle decorations down like flower balls, or drape fabric from one end to the other..

what i would do is, hang tulle from the center of the tent to all the 4 corners. wrapped ivy around the tulle and have something in the meeting point like a big lantern with ivy and flowers hanging out of it..while the sides of the tent...have more ivy and flowers...throw in some butterflies too

What about paper lanterns filled with sand and a tea light candle? You can make these easily on your own with white paper bags.
I've also seen cherry blossom lights!!!
Having said that, I've seen tents before, and they don't really feel tenty at weddings. As long as you have flowers it'll actually feel very etheral and beautiful

regrettably for actual wholesale expenses, you would be wanting a actual company! luckily I also have a company license so exchange into waiting to purchase table decorations at an excellent expenses. yet, extremely some the places with the incredibly super expenses won't enable you purchase (some won't even enable you in) without company license. i'm in Toronto, so telling you the place I went won't help. Sorry! you would be conscious of somebody who owns a company. in case you do searches for beads, flower arranging, synthetic plant life, etc you could discover something. that's how i chanced on my providers. proper of success!

Floating candles in bowls filled with river rocks or colored rock and water.
Go to a home center or nursery and purchase some potted plants and flowers to decorate and use for centerpieces.
Tall pillar candles in hurricane glass holders with rose petals scattered around.
