Stay in school! These days it is hard to get any type of job if you don't at least have a high school diploma. Your life will be much easier if you finish school. It is one thing you will never regret as you get older, but will always regret if you don't finish.

It depends on the school and the quality of the teachers. Some schools are only good for remedial kids and they get all the attention.

If you can be sure that you'll get proper tuition to enable you to obtain good qualifications and if your parents support you then stay.

On balance it might be best to get a job and to study part time at a college where you'll be treated as an adult and you can move on if the tuition is no good.

I think that even now its worthwhile having a degree if its from a good University and its a suitable vocational degree.

A good time to go up is when you are 21 or so. The course will be much easier to manage, You'll have a solid working platform of industrial or commercial experience and you'll have a better idea about what you want from life than you do at the age of 16.

Its impossible to get good advice from anyone and you have to do your own thinking, make your own analysis and take control of your own life.

Honey! How can you ask a question in that way, and wonder about the value of an education?
Question: "If you were 16 and in high school, would you stay in school or leave?"
Answer: I would stay in school, no matter what! I DID stay in school, no matter what!
The best gift you will ever give yourself is a free education. Then when you can, go to college as long as you can-hang in there-the smarter you get, the more intelligent, confident, and productive people you will meet (and become yourself) the more opportunities you will recognize, and the larger contribution you can make with your one little life here on the planet.
Stop advertising for attention from teenage boys on this site. You owe it to yourself to KNOW who you are talking to, to be safe and protect yourself and your family from danger, and live through your teen years.
Try to be patient with yourself, and enjoy being a kid as long as you can.

Tough it out and graduate from high school.

Lay low. Stay out of gangs and cliques. Make the best grades you can. Don't make any waves if at all possible.

Have good friends - the kind your parents approve of - you know what I mean - creepy friends only cause problems.

True, not everyone is a scholar - but tough it out, though - and graduate.

While you're in school, work with your guidance counselor and look into trade schools like heavy equipment operator, welder, auto mechanic, plumber, electrician etc. - where you can get certified in just a few months - and they make good money. Check out the unions for apprenticeships etc. so you can get out on your own with a good career.

Many of these fields are crying for women - so if you girls out there take note - non-traditional jobs can be great careers.

And I would not discount the military either. Yes, there's wars going on - and it's dangerous - but you can get several years of good on the job training in a good trade - that will support you well after you muster out.

IF you do decide to go military - then be sure to get your orders in writing. Recruiters sometimes (not always) tell you one thing - but you end up doing something else. Make sure what you're signing up for is binding - that is, if you go into the military as a welder - you're not driving a tank.

But speak with your shool's guidance counselor for advice on non-college careers.

Personally, I think as highly of my auto mechanic as I do my doctor or dentist.

I dropped out at 16 and got my GED. I have to say that if I can turn back the hands of time, I wish I would have stayed in high school. I missed out on going to prom and experiencing all these other things in high school. Stay in school!!!

Stay.......why would you leave? What good would it be to not have a high school diploma? You pretty much need a bachelors degree in college before you even start to think about making any decent amount of money. There's nothing to gain by quitting school.

No offense sweetie but you will never make it in the real world being 16, speaking the way you do, and not finishing school. It also requires consent from your parents. I suggest you stay in school finish school, and then decide what you want to do once you graduate. But honestly how different do you think your life will be- for the better- if you quit school...it will not, trust me! Good Luck!

Stay in school. Getting an education is the only way you can ever hope to get a good paying job and have an easier life as an adult.
