I've anesthetized people for aneurysm clipping. It's a long, tedious surgery. If there is bleeding during the surgery from the aneurysm, it can be life threatening.

Nowadays, they can sometimes coil the aneurysm, in which they put a little coil inside the aneurysm so it clots off. It is much easier to go through than the traditional clipping.

Here is a website all about it:

I have an uncle that went through post-anuerysm surgery back in 1988. Right afterward he didn't even know my name. Now he remembers everything before the incident and is still slowly building up his short term memory. he is still my godfather and my dearest uncle. He will still never be able to live on his own and no woman would ever want to marry him again. He will never be able to smell again but still thanks the Lord for every day he's alive. Are you or anyone you know going through or will go through this?
