Maybe a theme party with ur sons favourite character's eg Thomas the tank engine or Spiderman or just a costume party, they could play games like pass the pascle, musical chairs, treasure hunt, pin tail on donkey, lucky dip you could even have it at the park that way they can play aswell and no mess at home or you could go to one of those play centers usually they include food for the kiddies

When my youngest son turned 1 last year, we invited all of his cousins, his 3 sisters and 1 brother were already here of course and so we had about 9 kids here total and he had a blast. Little kids love being around other kids of all ages. I made about 50 cupcakes (enough for the adults as well) and had the bigger kids eat the cupcakes without their hands! It was hilarious. My son laughed soooooo much.

depending on where you live, do it at the park! we did my daughter;s party at the park, and it was sooo easy. the kids get to go and play on the playground< as you know, they would live there if they could!> come and eat cake and open presents, and go play again! we did this for my daughter and all the parents called me later and said it was the first time their kids slept on the way home from a birthday party! clean up is soo easy too. just throw it all away! you don't have to worry about spills, entertainment! it was a blast and we probably will do it this year again!

It all depends on what he likes...if he's into Dora the Explorer or Diego, then perhaps you would do an explorer themed party...or maybe Blues Clues and set up clues for them to find. It occupies their little minds while doing something fun and constructive...they'll love it!!!

Dora or Diego. I was at walmart and got plates, bowles and cups with a combination of Dora and Diego. They were about $2 each.(for 30) My daughter will be 3 in July and LOVED them. she wants to use them for everyday china!

Plus Dora and Diego are really big right now, alot of stuff out there with their pictures on them.

Go Diego Go!

If your son likes shows on PBS--like Thomas and Friends or Sesame Street, or likes Disney characters that would be a good place to start. Most young kids have character recognition and knows who Elmo is or Mickey Mouse if he is exposed to it.

Animals.... see if you can put together a trip to a SMALL local zoo - or even a petting zoo - where the kids can touch the animals or see them up close.
