Yes! It is much better than artificial sweeteners and can also lengthen life if used in moderation (aka under a tbsp a day).
Honey is also sweeter than sugar. 1 cup of honey is as sweet as 1 1/4 cups of sugar. It also has a great flavor.
Honey DOES have more carbs/sugar/calories than other sweeteners, but it is one of the best to use as it is natural and you can use less of it. If you really want a low-cal sweetener though, try xiltol or stevia.

Yes it will add as much sweetness and is much healthier for you due to all the additional things contained in honey that aren't found in sugar. I nearly always have honey to add sweetness, it also has very similar nutritional benifits as sugar i.e. energy boost etc. aswell as lots of additional things. Scientists are constantly coming up with new things honey contains that'll keep you alive and healthy longer so its no bad thing to start substituting it in.

1 tablespoon of honey (plain) has 64 calories (wow... I never looked that up before.... I'll be leaving that out of my green tea in the morning from now on..... I have two green teas per day, and put honey in both.... assuming it's one tablespoon I could cut out about 120 calories per day just cutting out honey -- all else being equal, that's about a pound of fat loss in 29 days!). Total carbs 17.3 grams, calcium 1.3 mg, and potassium 10.3 mg.
One tablespoon of white sugar has 46 calories, and 12 grams of carbs, .1 mg calcium, and .2 mg of potassium.
So, as far as limiting calories, you're better off with the white sugar. As far as getting a bit more nutrients, go with honey.
For dieting purposes, you're better off not eating either.

Honey is sweet because it is 80% sugar by weight. It is a more natural form of sugar, but it won't save you any calories in your diet.

That's no no for your diet! A tablespoon of honey contains about 17 g of sugar, which can be consumed in almost a half can of a regular coke!
If you use more than 2 tablespoons worth of honey a day, you are pretty much eating up some sugar.
So, I do not think it will be a good substitute................

Honey has just as many calories as sugar, although it is sweeter so you use less of it. You might also gradually reduce the amount so that you get used to things being less sweet.
