Okay, I am a Christian and I do not believe in reincarnation. I have a friend who has been battling cancer for many years. Her doctors just told her that she probably only has three more years to live tops. My concern is that she is Lutheran and she says that in her religion she knows that she will be coming back to do this all over again. Now, I am Baptist and that is not our belief. I know as a believer in the Lord that reincarnation is not a possibility. But I do not know how to talk to her in a loving and supporting manner and get her to see the truth. I am worried about her salvation. I would like answers and opinions from Christians and non alike. Please, if you are not a believer of Christ, do not be mean. This is a very touchy subject for me as I care deeply for my friend!! If you cannot answer without being unbiased, please move on.

Thank you for sharing.
She is your friend, your sister . . . . all you can do is love her and support her through this difficult time. Doctors are not the absolute, they cannot know how long she has anymore than she can. Enjoy this precious time with her and let her find her own peace, whatever that may be.
In the end, all paths lead to God.

You are opening a big can of worms on this subject. Many believe in reincarnation as many that believe it don't. Not only do Lutherans believe but many religions believe in it. So I'm not sure if you could convince her that is not true.Other religions from Christianity believe in reincarnation. If she is dying why don't you let her die in peace even though it is not your belief. God and Jesus never wanted us to push your beliefs on others. Just tell her about your doubts on this subject and give proof of it. If you can not give proof leave it alone.

Tell her Jesus loves her very much. Believing in reincarnation or not is not so important for a christian as long as she believe Jesus Christ is the son of the almighty god and through Jesus Christ only comes salvation. Tell her to ask whatever her heart desires to the good lord . Jesus wants her to be happy. Jesus wants to bless her. If she really wants to know about reincarnation tell her not to worry about it. Jesus is by her side always and she can talk to him any time. Jesus knows what she is going through and wants to give her peace. Tell her God , the almighty heavenly father, loves her very much and have sent his only begotten son to comfort her. All she need is to reach out to jesus . You are a blessing and a comfort to others. May you be bless with more loving kindness. The world needs more people like you. Don't stop praying for her. Fast if you must but only with the blessing of the good lord. The good lord loves you too.

lutherans are also christians and they are like any christians who do not believe in reincarnation. I believe your friend believe that perhaps she has not been fully grounded in the word of God. Reincarnation is actually a buddhist belief. She might not be aware that reincarnation is unscriptural.
In Luke 20:27 - 34 A group of sadducees asked jesus about a widow who will be the husband in paradise when she subsequently married to the brothers one by one of her late husband to carry on the jewish custom of marrying the brothers to be taken care of when the husband died without children. Jesus answered that those who raised from the dead wont be married again, which means that when a believer died he will be rose to heaven and will not marry again. Since we are going to heaven when we passed on, there will be no reincarnation, instead we will be living eternally in heaven with Jesus.
I will not be able to tell if your friend can change her mind if you read this explanation to her. However at this time i will be more concerned about her heart towards God.
In addition, since Jesus died for our sins so that we can reconcile with God and live eternally with Him, reincarnation will not happen because Jesus would not need to die on the cross for the human race if we know we will reincarnate and will not die eternally.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world so that He has brought his begotten Son so that everyone who believes in him shall not perish but have ETERNAL LIFE. ETERNAL LIFE in heaven.

God created a perfect world when it is seen through spiritual eyes. It is man who has created the chaos and confusion here, not God or the Master Jesus. So who are we to blame? Ourselves, obviously. It is for us to wake up and see what is the true nature of LIFE and our place in the world. We are more than a physical body with a mind. There is the mystery of Spirit which breathes Life into form. When Spirit departs the form has no life in itself. So recognize your own consciousness as the real and true Spirit in which God has created you. Well, time and the generations will bring about change and mankind's continual upward progress to greater understanding of the universe and how we are all part of it.

Well, I don't think you know for sure that reincarnation isn't possible. You should be supportive of your dying friends beliefs, everyone goes to heaven.

Do not try to get her to 'see the truth'. The truth is nobody knows for certain. Let her believe as she does. It is better for her.
