have some complex carbs before working out like whole wheat toast and a piece of fruit - it will give you energy.
wright after working out have some protein to repair muscle - you can eat the protein part of your dinner now. then weight a little - take a shower, watch the new and then have dinner.

It depends how hungry you feel when you get back from work, if your feeling very hungry I would probably eat dinner and then excercise. But if you don't come back that hungry then excercise first then workout. There really is no set rule just whatever feels best for you, try doing it both ways and see which you prefer.
Also its worth noting you can train your body to excercise with undigested food still in your stomach, I tend to excercise 30mins after eating breakfast and thats fine, sometimes its less time still fine, but I had to get used to doing so before I was easily able to. On the other hand I feel sick if I excercise when I'm too hungry.

If it's been longer than 3 hours since you've eaten before you work out, you should throw down a couple hundred calories to keep your energy up. Ideally eat about an hour before you work out.
But if you're eating a low calorie diet, no one meal really is all that huge and you can basically eat anytime, as long as your stomach feels o.k. I usually don't eat more than 500 calories in a meal, so that's generally not enough to slow me down.

If you're hungry, you should eat. You want the energy for working out. But definitely wait a while before working out after you've eaten. The time can vary based on how much you ate and how you feel ... and also on what you're going to do to workout. If you're too full, working out will be uncomfortable and you'll probably just cut the workout short.

I would say :eat a few slices of bread(carbs)before working out.If you eat a large meal it may put you asleep and then you would not feel like working out.Being x military we allways ate after the workout which at times was pretty tough. The calories you burn will be replaced by a hearty meal afterwards.
