I would keep it masculine looking somehow....i'm thinking how that would work. You could have their names actually shape what you're getting. Like if you wanted an armband, just make it of their names w/stars in between. Or the names could be flower stems or something. I think that's a darling tattoo idea! I would be proud if my husband did that for me someday!

Awww, that's really sweet of you. I think the heart and stars are a great idea, I bet your wife will think so too also the triplets when they grow up will know how much they mean to you and how much you love them. Congratulations by the way.

Tattoos are something you can have forever. They represent things that are truly special to you. I have five and I love them all. I have a tattoo of my son's name on my ankle and I love the idea of the heart and stars but you may want to try a moon and stars. A full moon represents the birth mother. But it's all up to you. Good Luck!

Great idea, but be warned my partner first had a heart on his shoulder for his Gran, enjoyed the experience and now has a whole arm and whole leg covered in tattoos and is booked in for six hours this weekend to start on his back. Good luck, congratulations on the triplets.

Tattoos, when well done, ROCK! But be sure to look around, approach people who's tattoos are well done and ask where they got it from, speak about what you have in mind with the tattoo artist and be open to suggestion. Don't have it done too small or with too many busy details as this will bleed after a while and look crappy. I prefer simple and bold in black, white and shading.
But beware, you may get addicted.
I've got 2...so far and will definitely be getting more.

I think it's a terrific idea - a very personal thing too. I have a tattoo which I had done which always reminds my of my maternal grandmother. I am planning on another on in the coming weeks. They aren't visible to others on a day to day basis but they mean a lot to me. Congratulations on the babies :-)

I think that's a nice idea. My husband paid for me to have a tattoo for a wedding present - it is a Japanese symbol that means 'promise' (ie. promise we will be together for ever).
I love tattoos and as long as you're happy getting one go for it! Good luck with the triplets as well - that's a handful!

i am not a fan of name tattoos, they just don't look as good to me as a picture or something. stars and a heart sound good if that is something that you really want but think long and hard about it. you can get as detailed as you are willing to and with the right artist you can get an amazing tattoo. you could get a tattoo of their foot prints or hand prints but i would wait a bit until you can get a feel for the babies personalities. or better, wait until they are toddlers and are drawing pictures and you could get a picture drawn by them tattooed on you, that would be special because it is theirs.

It is a romantic thought and to let you know my husband has my name on him also if it is in a private place that only you and your family knows about then it will be OK. Also it will resemble something special to you and is not just to make you look cool or big. But it is your choice so don't let anyone pressurise you into doing anything you don't want to do and nobody will think less of you if you decide not to have it done.
