After UFC 71, Dana White said Chuck will probably fight Wanderlei Silva. Chuck is going to have to fight his way back into a title shot with all the talent the UFC is bringing into the Light Heavyweight Division with Dan Henderson, Shogun Rua, Wanderlei Silva.

While Chuck Liddel is a real fighter and a good fighter with the way the MMA is going and the talent they are bringing in I believe he will keep fighting but I don't think you will see him reel off several wins in a row against some of this new competition. He is too one dimensional and not offensively as good on the ground. I also think that Jackson would beat him more than half the time but in spite of this Chuck will fight him again and anyone else for that matter as he enjoys fighting.
When he no longer enjoys it and it becomes more like work then you will see him retire and probably open up a gym or training school and maybe get into promoting.

I have to agree, the rampage really has his number...and for anyone that thinks the stoppage was tooooo early...do you remember what he did to him the first time (that was one of the ugly-est beat downs)...the same thing was about to happen again.
for the future...I think he'll fight again, but his style which was once viewed as so unorthodox it was hard to combat, has been exposed for what it is...he's a powerful counter puncher, that back peddles to lure his opponents to catch them with wild looping punches from different angles, great take down defense...the other thing is he's always looking for one shot....but doesn't do well against aggressive fighters with reasonoble defense and head movement, that are willing to trade with him... if you take away chucks looping cross he's ineffective.
for chucks sake, I hope he doesn't fight Vanda-killer-lay it will be a massacre! (prediction: 2 knees to the body, 3 to the head chuck wakes up in the hospital 1 week later)

Fight Wanderlei Silva. If he wins he gets Hendo/Rampage. If he loses... well we'll see.
