It depends on the amount of calories and carbohydrates each contains. If you want to keep the beer, cut something else from your diet that is higher in calories, such as a candy bar. I'm not familiar with the numbers of calories in cider or beer. Just check the labels and whichever has the least will be the better option for you.

The proverbial beer belly is from too many calories and too little activity. Replacing one hight calorie beverage that makes you want to sit around and watch tv with another is not going to be any better or worse. Get out and walk, run, bike, or rollerblade. Do something active and eat less. Sit back and watch your beer belly go down, and most important enjoy your pint at the end of the day.

It's not the act of drinking beer that gives you a 'beer belly'. It's the excess of calories you consume. Hard cider contains about the same amount of calories as beer, so you won't be better off by switching. You could try switching to light beer, or cutting back on your consumption of regular beer.

Unfortunately you would develop a larger cider belly. Cider tends to have have more calories per pint that beer by 20-40 calories.

Not a chance... I wish that it were true, but it's not going to make a difference. I drink cider and I've still got a little beer belly that I'm working on... getting it off, that is...

An excess of 'ANY' liquid results in beer belly. Think of your stomach as a balloon, when you blow it up in never goes back to its original size when deflated. Moderation in everything will keep you looking good to the girls.

No, it will increase it as cider has a higher sugar count and contains more calories.
