in 20 years, when you (or a loved one) desperately need a procedure that could help them walk again, or even save their life, will you use that procedure?
Or will you refuse because it came about through stem cell research?

This question hits home if it wasn't for all the opposition and fighting over this today my mother might still be standing here beside me I know many people who will benefit from this research. I don't believe that it's murder. I wish that the new therapies and procedures were here now and if needed I would use them and everyone who says they wouldn't is lying. Human nature will always get the best of them.

I support stem cell research, so yes, I would use it. However, how those stem cells were obtained is important too. Not a religionist, but I think there is a potential for abuse here, especially if stem cell research is conducted independently, without any ethical codes to follow (mostly in other countries).

This is becoming moot because it has been reported that they've found ways to harvest stem cells without destroying embryos. If true, with that objection removed, I imagine everyone would use the therapies.

So let me get this straight, you want to STOP a new life from forming so you can continue your own? Sounds like premeditated murder to me.
Now if you want to take your own DNA and grow yourself a liver in your bathtub, go ahead.
If you open that Pandora's box, go ahead. A couple of movies to watch and ponder over before you run amok with unbridled stem cell research: THE ISLAND, a fairly new movie. and an old 70s flick called EMBRYO. That is the world you will have.

I would gladly take the procedure if I felt in would help improve my life.

hmm... I support it. Yeah, so the stem cells came from embryos... their potential life was not transduced in vain.

Who cares what these religious bunch of whackos think? Do these christians even know a first damn thing about "Medical Science"?

We should proceed with every technique of solving our physical problems, no matter if it's related to Biology or Medical Science or Astronomy.

Okay, lets clear up the mud a little.

Christians are not, and never have been against "stem cell research", that is a myth. Christians are against "farm raising" babies to harvest for body parts.

Don't make up lies-we can see through you.
