A deed is a deed. The result of the deed may be considered evil by who is offended by it. A knife is neither good nor evil but it can be used to do both. I can cut veges and meat to cook food or kill someone with it.
However the tool remains neutral. This principle would apply to anything even what is considered evil like witchcraft or voodoo.

Your question is more philosophical than religious. Because religion gives us complete information about what's right and what's evil or wrong. The teaching of a religion told its followers about right and wrong.
To me, an evil deed is a deed that is forbidden by God.

Jesus said all your works are as filthy rags. your deeds can not save you so, your deeds can not condemn you.
I think what was meant by that is the fact when you do some thing, you expect payment. there for, you do not do it out of love, or charity. so, Jesus said "your works can not save you", he had to say "your works can not condemn you"
we are evil by nature, but only through Jesus we are saved. Saved from our selves :)
