It is like this: God requires us (humans) to live a sinless life in order to obtain passage into Heaven.
As this is impossible, when you add up all your sins over a lifetime, it gets pretty ugly.
So, Jesus - who lived a sinless life- offered himself as our ticket.
Easy? Sure, all you have to do is ask Him to be your savior and Lord of your life.

Good works alone will not save us. That is the point. Perfection is the standard, and we fall way short of it. That is what is meant by the Scriptures when they say our righteousness is as filthy rags. Yet God sent His son to save us. Don't measure a person's worth by their performance alone. God doesn't. If He did, we'd be in deep doo-doo.

Dear Friend,
Let us look to the Bible for the answer.
Romans 5:12
[ Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ ] Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We are imperfect beings and are inherently sinful, the Bible uses the word fall short of the Glory of God. As imperfect can we do anything else?
Also a very famous scripture
John 3:16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
and also:
Romans 5:6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God knows we are imperfect, and notice the text in Romans 5, "While we were still sinners" God knows we are sinful and loves us, and wants us all to be reconciled to him through faith in his son. When we fall down, he helps us to our feet. This scripture is illuminating this fact. God certainly does not think of us as dirty rags.
God bless you brother

Yes this is so. You cannot please God with human good.
Only divine good, which comes from God's word. If you are in fellowship and are applying Gods word to your life, he is pleased. Nothing we do will ever be worth more than giving our time/talent or treasure to his will and his word being taught/spread throughout the world. It is our job to tell the world about Jesus Christ and what he did for me and YOU and all the world, so that you can have everlasting life.

This is saying that the only reason why are considered righteous to God is because of his love, and that we couldn't have been cleansed of all sin had God not put his hand on us.

You can only come to him through Jesus Christ as your savior. The only way!And God does know everything about us and our sins.If we were nothing but dirty rags to him he would of never sent his only son to save our skin to begin with. And Nobody has re-programed me,I'm human not a machine.

It is in Isaiah 64:6.
I would suggest reading it in context by reading the chapter from the start.
