We were not manufactured to never get sick. We evolved with an immune system that protects us from most diseases, and a large amount of the sickness in today's world is a result of us abusing our bodies' defense systems. Without technology, disease would weed out the weaker members of our race and gradually improve us to deal with the new diseases. Modern medicine has removed this as an evolutionary factor.

God gave us a brain to learn, so we could help cure our own sickness in the world. I believe this was his intent. God helps those who help themselves. We have aquired the knowledge. Now, some will say it's because Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge. I don't agree with that.

You take a lot for granted. How do you know that God did not make someone sick to serve a purpose? Who are you to determine God's will? If you believe in God then you must believe that he does everything for a reason.

A lot of illness comes by our life style. We weren't made to be sick, but we don't take care of our bodies. Poor diet, lack of sleep, and smoking are things that cause the body harm.

I don't understand your question.. but the world was perfect until Adam and eve first sinned and from there we all know that the world was "cursed" so to speak. One other thing the bible says God lets times of trouble fall upon people to bring them closer to him...

what? what the hell does that mean? if you believe in god and the bible and all that, then i think you'll agree that god created the whole freaking EVERYTHING - planets, people, germs, sharks, evergreens, std's, paranoia, ice, white blood cells, naive christians - EVERYTHING!!! including, yes, the ability to get sick, and even die. so, there you go.

why doesn't "natural selection" work anymore???
