Where do you come from?

Pet insurance varies quite a lot in quality - more so than say, car insurance. A word of warning: the cheaper it is, the less it's going to cover. Most insurances will cover say, a broken leg but they're aren't many that do cover for lifelong conditions. This isn't going to matter much until your cat is old, when it is likely to develop something like arthritis, diabetes or hyperthyroidism - all things that will require medication for the rest of their life. Most companies will only pay so much per condtion once, or so much per year. This is something to think about.

I recommend Petplan insurance, it's not one of the cheapest but it's so worth it. www.petplan.com

Whatever you choose, stay away from Directline, E & L and Tesco!

You can either get pet insurance or do as I did. I set up a bank account and put £10 a month in it.

It comes in handy for paying for vaccinations etc on a yearly basis and I also keep the interest that I earn.

i think it is a good idea to get insurance, i wish i had when my cat got runover, it cost me £900.00 in vet bills.
The best thing to do is to ring around a few companys for the best deal.
