My friend just came on MSN, and she told me that her dog (who was in a fight a few days ago) had wound, and she thinks there is a sign of infection as it had (according to her) "yellow whitish oozey slime on the cut" could this be an infection? She's really worried about him now, since he's her favourite dog, she should contact the vet , right?

Yes go to the vet. He needs antibiotics. Without them he could become septic and die. In the meantime, keeping hot packs on the wound will help drain the abscess of pus. Just keep cleaning it, and don't let it heal with infection in it. You want it drained out.

Very rarely does a bite wound NOT create an infection. She needs to get the dog to the vet for antibiotics before the infection spreads through out the body. Tell her to make an appointment TODAY!

If the dog was "her favorite" and she really loved him, she would have taken him to the vet as soon as she found out that he was involved in a fight. Yes, it definitely sound infected so she will need to get to a vet ASAP. Tell her to be more responsible next time instead of waiting for the wound to become infected.

Sounds like an infection to me.
If she is worried, yes she should take her dog to the vet.
An infection from a dog bite will not clear up and go away with out treatment from a vet.
Tell your friend to take her dog to see the vet now!

She should contact a vet. It could be a start of a infection best to catch it early than wait until later. He will have a better chance of getting better.

I know someone that just had to go tocourt even though thewound wasn't infected but she was treating it herself by cleaning it with peroxide and then using neosporin tehy are threatening tht they will take her dog away and she won't be allowed to have any other dogs EVER
get to the vets and make sure you keep all vet records if youshould need it gfor proof.

yes get her to contact a vet. its always better to get cut sorted sooner rather than later if the infection gets to bad it will be more difficult to fight with antibiotics and will end out costing her a fortune

Yes, it is infected, and yes, she should contact her vet. She'll probably need it cleaned and some antibiotics.
