Political correctness gone awry, more than anything. In the United States, this is something both liberals and conservatives have contributed to, in different ways. The conservatives have rallied to give special priviledge to Chrsitians, and to a lesser extent people of other religions. And they have really tightened the screws on American prudishness, to the point where a brief glimpse of a pastied breast can make the headlines for weeks and spur the FCC to impose even more ridiculous fines for trivial offenses. The liberals have done much the same for any racial or gender mention. If you so much as say the word "nappy", you can loose your job, no matter how much else you've used your career to help others in need.
It is frustrating, but in once sense it is a sign of how easy our lives are. As an analogy, imagine if in this world, everybody had everything they wanted and everything was spotless and clean, and there were no conflicts anywhere. In such a world, someone accidently dropping their ice cream cone would be major news and considered a tragedy. People were more thick skinned in the past because they had more dire things to worry about than whether someone's wardrobe malfunctioned during a football game.

I wonder how old you are. You're using a "NOT" like the old Saturday Night Live, which means you could be over 50.
Perhaps there are things going on with the people you hang out with. Perhaps you haven't matured, or that you're hanging out with people who are burdened with a lot of concerns. Or perhaps they're worried about the war or global warming.
Consider the fact that you're the only common denominator among all these events. In truth, there is just as much humor in the world as there always has been, but perhaps it is evading you for some specific reason that I cannot determine. Take a look at yourself, your style of humor, and the possibility that you're the one wearing the wet blanket. (After all, this was not a particularly funny posting.)

It was worse 200 years ago when Witches were used to be burnt at stake by churches.
Atleast we have Human Rights Commission and Civil Laws set in such a way that these whacko churches stay under control.

You are just hanging around older people, and the older some people get the more bitter they become, there are still some fun oldies out there that can take it, they usually don't go to the stinky smelly pubs though, they've got more class since growing up

You know what's interesting to me is before I was a Christian I was a LOT more serious.
I had no idea the funny, comical people at church. I have so much more fun with these crazy christians than I ever did getting drunk at a bar/pub.
I guess they have hope and just more to be happy about.

because we are an undereducated, over-religious people with far too many freedoms on one hand, and far too little on the other. We can sue people for just about anything (Waah, he hurt my feelings) we pay people millions to entertain us, then whine about how much they make, and again sue them for anything we can come up with. we give our government too much power, and in turn it ignores our disabled and elderly, so it can fight a pointless war. PLUS we've lost all concept of respect for ourselves, our planet, and each other.
Yeah, I tend to agree, it's a pretty funless world out there... My philosophy- life's too serious to be taken seriously...

This life is not about your happiness. You can choose to ignore God's plan for you. You have a free will.
I used to be very fun loving, that did not change a lot. I just get my fun from different things. I love my Lord. It is such a pleasure to love Him.

Well, that's true, you try to make a racist joke and you're almost murdered the next morning. But, that's what 1 Timothy 3:1-5 says would happen in the 'last days'.
