Well, my cat is approx. 70+ days pregnant, her mucus plug came out yesterday afternoon and has been spotting blood all over her blankets and floor. She is currently VERY lovey, and won't lay down, she keeps pacing back and forth in circles and such and continuously meows. I go in to check on her and she wants me to rub her down and hold her. Does everything sound like normal? How much longer before she starts the birthing process? Thanks so much for all input!

Hi there keep an eye on the bleeding to make sure she does not get too heavy as she could get an infection.
Other than that your baby is due to have her babies any time today most of mine have had them evening/early morning. If she wants you with her stay and she may want her tummy rubbed. make sure she has a litter tray close by and be ready to comfort her as if this is her first litter she may get confused and try to run around. if she does this with a kitten from her just hold her in her box and stroke her and let it pass. My cat was just the same and gave birth that night after a very long day. Remember don't worry kittens can come up to 3 hours apart most ar 30-1 hr my last cat just 4 weeks ago all the first 4 was very close 25-30 Min's and the last was just over an hour. Being her first she may just want her mummy there. Most people say they want to be left alone but most of mine have always wanted me there and asked. by coming in and out of the room trying to get me to follow them. Good Luck and if you need any more help feel free to mail me.
Hope this helps
Good Luck
xXx

Duck just calm down my cat give birth 7 weeks ago and it was her first time as well, but she did really well. my fella had to help her a little bit, he just had to cut the cords and rip the bag around the kitten. She was 70+ as well her belly was massive, i thought she would only have 2 or 3 with it being her first time, but she pop out 5. and there all healthy kittens. Just put her in a room where she cant get out , put some of her favourite food out and give her a cat tray. put it all by her and she will be all right. you will no as soon as she is ready coz she will start bearing down, and cleaning her self alot. Just keep a close eye on her, if you are still worried about her then phone the vets. hope everything is alright and good luck XXX XXX

Usually, the tops a cat will go is 63 days, or 9 weeks. This sounds strange to me. I would honestly take her to the vet. Is she eating, drinking, going to the litter box? Does she seem like she is in distress. Panting or wondering around, hiding? Take her to the vet. She might have a problem and might need a c-section. Not very common in cats, but possible. The longer the kittens stay inside, the more stale the uterus may be. This may actually make the kittens sick!

the first stage of labour which she is in at the moment can last up to 24 hours
so she should start straining fairly soon and most cats have kittens without a problem however if she strains for more than one hour to pass a kitten you must take her to the vets and if she hasnt started by this evening it may be worth taking her along just to chec everything is going ok if nothing has happened by tomorrow am definatley get her in as may have uterine inertia and need a c section

yeah just keep a close eye on her the kittens will be large being that long of a gestation. if shes pushing for too long and nothing comes out or a kitten gets stuck try to assist gently and if unable to free the baby get her to a vet asap . and be prepared for a c section which may cost upwards of 300-400 dollars

...Since -yesterday afternoon-?

Your cat's having difficulty due to FAR too large kittens (70+ days is obscene, it'd be like 10 months for a human). Get your girl to a vet. Get ready for a c-section and prepare yourself emotionally. I wish you the very best, hun. Good luck.

to the best of my knowledge her spotting blood like that isn't normal.
The best thing to do is to call your vet NOW and ask them .Explain the whole situation and do what they say. don't wait for answers here. i don't know if she should go to the vets and it may cost agreat deal so call first NOW
Best of luck
