Really a good question with undenyable facts!
Many may be surprised! due to their ignorance of the teaching of Quran! But it is a fact that Quran (has 6000 verses in 114 Chapters/Books out of which 1000 verses) talks about universe; like - primary nebulla & Big Bang theory, Expanding Glaxies, 7 Skies= 7 Layers of Atmosphere on earth, Egg like shape of earth, Stars and Astronomy,The Embriology -Modren miracle of birth.
Quran rejects pillars of heaven and pillars of earth as mentioned in Bible. Quran eliminates misconceptions about Cosmic facts.
It is a well known fact that Quran was the main instinct & source for the Muslim scientists who discovered many basic scientific laws.
The modren science could not reach to this stage if Muslim Scientists would not have given them the basic scientific rules & measures found by them.
Quran described the facts before these facts were revealed to mankind. It is a miracle of God!

Islam did not get it right 1400 yrs. ago, God did over 6000 yrs ago, Now you must be a muslim, the way you try to bring this forth, & you are using 1400 yrs ago. But let's see what the Christian Bible says, In the beginning, Now this can take you back further than 6000 yrs. But Millions of years. Genesis 1:16 And God made 2 great lights, The greater light to rule the day & the lesser light to rule the night, He also made the stars. Now when did this happen, not 1400 yrs ago, & not really 6000 yrs ago, But in the beginning of time, which can reach back millions of years ago.

Sorry, but your Quran really didn't predict anything. It's easy to take any book and interpret it so that it seems to predict what we've discovered recently
If the Quran predicted all of these things, then how come it wasn't Quranic scholars that discovered these things millenia ago? The real evidence for a book having information is not in rationalizing it after the fact. It is in predicting it before the fact.
Nobody 1400, or even 400, years ago used the Quran to advance science. Instead, the Quranic scholars have been left with claiming, after scientists have done all the hard work, that the Quran really said it first. Oh yeah? Then name something the scienctists haven't discovered yet that's in the Quran. Please, use the Quran to point the scientists in the right direction to a discovery that only the Quran knew and scientists had no idea was true. Can't do it? Didn't think so.

Islam was, between the 8th and 14th century, the religion of science and knowledge.
it regressed greatly over the last half millennium, and it's former glory was replaced by conservatism and fanaticism.
isn't that a pity?
But truly, Islam was certainly unaware of worlds other than our own earth, and the statement you found could not be a sign of futurism in Islam.
it's just a statement.
