I agree with others. Soda is pure junk. I've also heard the comments about cola sucking calcium and other good stuff from bones. Recently, in a magazine, I saw an ad for Diet Coke with vitamins added. I wondered if people were more wising up about soda and sales dropped, so Diet Coke had to give it a "health" aspect. Well, I get plenty of vitamins with out anything "healthy" (in this aspect, I use the term loosly) added to my junk.

Yes, I drink soda. I used to drink about one a day, before my pregnancy. Now I might drink one a week; With my main liquids coming from plenty of fruits and veggies, water (I'll occasionaly add a lemon juice and water mix sweetened with natural Stevia), juice and vanilla soy milk. Usually when I drink soda, it's a clear lemon lime or ginger ale, since the colas really scare me more.

Pre-pregnancy, I would drink the diet soda when I wanted something pure junky, but without the calories. Now, I just eat dark chocolate, or my homemade chocolate cake with whole wheat flour and apple sauce in lieu of oil and homemade frosting, which is also low sugar and made with soy milk. Yummy.

At the very least, stick with flavored waters. I used to buy those and pour half into an empty bottle and dilute it (to get rid of the carbination) with regular filtered water for the flavored. I weaned myself off of them when the price went up. Although, they do sound good now as another slight "alternative" to regular water.

Well - it doesnt 'work' to keep you slim. It only has one calorie in it so therefore drinking it instead of a normal coke/ pepsi is better as the calorie content is SO much later. However - I have seen, first hand, that people that drink alot of diet drinks can develop more cellulite. And the only thing they cahnged was from normal to diet drinks and the cellulite got worse. So drink water (with cordial, if you need taste). Its so so much better for you, not full of crap and NO calories!!! Good Luck

I wouldn't say it would work to make people slim like SlimFast or a powerbar, but rather that it helps people to reduce their liquid calorie intake especially if they don't practice drinking lots of water everyday

Because people use may it as a substitute for water (and soda) thus avoiding taking in unnecessary calories, that can help keep them slim or prevent weight gain. Liquid calories make up a big part of most peoples weight gain.

BTW Do you like the taste of diet coke/pepsi? I thought it tasted awful.. more pleasure in water, lol

tell you something normal coke can have around 11 tea spoon of sugar, where diet coke use artificial sugar which health hazard if you use long term. Again coke is high in acid, sodium and phosphate which resposible to desolve calcium from your bone. It okie to drink time to time for fun , however I will suggest there is nothing better than water, If you want anything else use low fat milk or fresh juice. Spartan

Things that you eat or drink don't "keep you slim."

Diet sodas have no calories, so that's better than drinking calories in terms of gaining fat. However, the chemicals in those drinks are not healthy for you. Once a week or so is probably not an issue. But daily soft drink intake is not healthy.

The best drink is WATER. Have an 8 ounce orange juice or something once a day.

I desire Coke carefully because of the fact it is not weight-alleviation plan and loaded with sugar to no longer point out that the acid eats the the teeth off your tooth. So surely a glass of Coke in step with risk as quickly as a week! I additionally love Dr. Pepper!

By substituting a "diet" soda for a regular soda, you save calories. Most "diet" sodas have zero calories. Taking in less calories per day keeps you slim. There is no magic potion in the diet soda. Water has zero calories, also, and is actually better for your body.

It doesn't make you slimmer. It merely has artificial sweeteners, that don't add up to your calorie intake. So unless you exercise, your calorie expenditure doesn't change, and hence your weight. Besides, the aspartame, that is used as a sweetener has medical issues. check the link below...
