Zeggy's answer is the stupidest of the lot:
Would saying you wanted to wipe Nazism or anti-Semitism from the "pages of time" mean the same as advocating a slaughter of Nazis and anti-Semites?

Israel is only in existence because of USA. Israel is constantly funded by USA with guns and weapons to kill Palistinians. Its what the US really want secretly. The reason why so many Arabs
hate Israel and want to abolish its existence is because legally its shouldnt be there. Its not technically Jewish owned land. Its Arab land so how can you call it Israel? Also a peaceful solution is to remove the whole idea of ISRAEL and let Jews and Muslims live peacefully together.

The whole problem is not the arabs its some extreme Jews who keep banging on about the fact that Israel is their "God Given right" Its ridiculous.

Media disinfo at work. *Iran's President has written two rather philosophical letters to America. In his first letter, he pointed out that "History shows us that oppressive and cruel governments do not survive". With this statement, Ahmadinejad has also projected the outcome of his own backwards regime, which will likewise "vanish from the page of time".

He said what he said in Arabic, so we have to rely on tranlsations to determine what he said. I will trust an official Translator over your "Wikipedia" source anyday.

The majority of translations of MANY Iranian speeches concerning Israel agree the aim of the Arab world is to remove Israel by exterminating its residents. They consider Jews to be infidels (they feel this way about Americans, too) and want them gone from what they consider to be "their" land. Whether it's "Wiped off" or "Wiped Out" it still means removal of the Jews from their land, which will only happen if they are exterminated.

After Germany and Japan were defeated at the end of WW2, part of the treaty negotiations with NATO were to give Jewish people land on which to build a sovereign nation, a land they can consider HOME, a home they can defend since they had no home country prior to this, since in Biblical times, the Romans scattered the Tribes all over the Middle East. In the 1940s, Hitler had almost done the job most of the Middle East wants to complete now. This land is what is known as "Israel" today. Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, among others, have made it known over the last 65 years they don't want Jewish people in their region, even though their leaders agreed to it at the Treaty of Pottsdam.

By the way, there IS no such thing as "The Palestinian State". The land the Palestinians occupy is Israeli land, they occupy it illegally. Israel won this land when they defeated the best the Middle East could bring to bear in the 6 Days Days War, when Israel cleaned Egypt's Jordan's and every other MIddle Eastern combatant's backside. They ALLOW the Palestinians to live there, because they understand the hopelessness and vunerability you feel when you can call no country "home".
For their generosity and compassion, Israel gets blown up by Palestinian idiots with bombs under their burkas.

No Iranian leader in HISTORY has said he sympathizes with the Jewish people and supports their presence in the Middle East, so stop trying to polish a dog turd. Everybody knows Iran would blow up the entire Middle East, including themselves, to be known as the country which "wiped out" Israel. They have said as much in speeches, which the Iranian people seem to REALLY support. It's a real Republican tactic: Finding someone to blame and hate is MUCH easier than actually solving problems, you know, actually LEADING their people into a more enlightened future.

Wiped shouldn't be your source. It changes hourly. Regardless of the quotes, one would be hard-pressed not to call Iran a radically anti-Israel state hoping for nukes. The quote he said is a thinly veiled threat. No Israelis read that and went 'Phew! only a rejection of our political ideology!"

I have no idea whether he said that or not, But they are enemies..and they have equal sever intension..If Iran is not accepting Israel..even Israel is not treating it like a God...! these are politica statements which would going on till the resolution of the problem..I daily read even here "wipe musims off the face of earth"..should muslim just wage a wage agaisnt such people or attack them for passing such statements? well if iran attack Israel than thats something very serious and ofcourse would matter a lot, but making these statements an issue opens the door for many other statements to be taken an "issues"..like bush calling Iraq war as crusade and many more ! anyways !

This is not a political question but a question of semantics. In English, "wipe off the map" is the same concept as "vanish from the page of time".

Answer: American for the most part have no idea who Ahmadinejad is, let alone of what he says.

On June 15, 2006 The Guardian columnist and foreign correspondent Jonathan Steele cites several Persian speakers and translators who state that the phrase in question is more accurately translated as "eliminated" or "wiped off" or "wiped away" from "the page of time" or "the pages of history", rather than "wiped off the map". [19]

This is included in your link. What else does this refer to other than Genocide.

Hmm, wonder why you picked to insult me, maybe because you have looked at my past questions, realized my family are from Israel and thought I was an easy target to insult . Well you haven't you have shown yourself to be an idiot yourself. I can't even be bothered to answer your pathetic little comment as when people such as yourself have one idea, nothing anyone says would make a difference anyway.
BTW sending abusive e-mails as well to me just shows the small minded, pathetic, little prick you are.

"it was a rejection of a political ideology"

And that is your interpretation.

My interpretation is that Ahmadinejad has no intention of living peacefully with at least one of its neighbors in the MiddleEast.

It is sad that you seem to want to overlook that fact.
