I totally agree, I think if Maddie has been taken by someone and her parents are Innocent that they should still be up on charges for neglect!!

Of course they should and would be prosecuted if the child was not theirs . We entrust our children to people who we hope would take over our roles when we are absent.
I think a lot of pro McCann supporters are trying to balance the neglect of the parents and the absolute hell they are going through. In their eyes the parents have been punished for the neglect . Why would prosecuting them make a difference they already have the worse punishment any parent could have .
All I can say is what about Madeleine's rights . Doesn't that little girl deserve to have her parents answer for the premeditate decision they made to leave 3 babies alone. Her parents are going through hell but that is not a patch on what Madeleine is or has been going through. She deserves to have her parents dealt with within the law .

Ok let me say a couple of things here. These are my own opinions of course:
I don't think it has anything to do with the McCanns being her parents. It is to do with WHAT the McCann parents DID to her, for example leaving the children alone to go for a meal in the first place.
If Madeleine was my daughter I would NOT have dreamt of doing that at all. It would NOT enter my mind in the first place and Madeleine WOULD still be here.
If those children like you say were not belonging to the McCann's and they done that I would STILL find it disgusting. No children should be left on their own like that no matter who they belong to.
The fact that Maddies parents in this case is different is because they are wealthy people who COULD afford a babysitter and didn't bother but still had the cheek to go out and enjoy themselves leaving them alone.
Your last paragraphs has answered your own question.

Well honestly I would still be upset with the parents because well I would not let a carer take my children that age on Holiday. I have let my best friend take my boys camping with her and her son but they were all 8 years old or older and it was 2 hours from my house and they only went for 2 days.

A lot of supporters are justifying the actions of the McCanns by saying the babysitting service offered by the hotel would have done the same thing, checked on them every 20-30 mins. This isn't right, the room listening service would do this, the baby sitting is just that - a proper baby sitter!
Anyway, if they had been using the room listening service and the same thing happened who would be getting blamed and sued? The hotel.

Totally agree..i couldn't believe it when i heard that they had gone out & left the 3 kids on their own. Its unbelievable!!
Apart from the fact she is now missing (just say that never happened)...what if somthing else had happened to her or the two smaller ones while they were out, they could fallen out of the bed, or woken up & started messin round in the apt & hurt themselves. The parents wouldnt have come back for another half an hour & they'd have been there all on their own cryin or watever until they decided to come back!
I know it a horrible thing to say but its their own fault!

Now nearly 180 hate "Questions"against a tragic medical family who have lost a child perhaps to a paedophile.
How anyone can conduct such a venom campaign against a family who may have lost a child to a paedophile is really beyond me; however, the repeated mention of "White middle class doctors " gives me a clue. Please forget envy and accept my condolences that you are career and academic failures, but stop using the tragic McCanns as a therapy to counteract your own failure

I agree completely, if anything else had happened to these or any other children because they were left unattended (such as a fire, etc) then the parents would be held accountable. We all know there are some very sick ppl so why leave your children there with easy access. I have three children and would never leave them on their own in any country, never mind a foreign one.

Not sure if they should appear in court - you could argue they are suffering enough for their mistake.
However - and I know this is off the subject - but I think it would have also been treated differently if they werent doctors, but unemployed, or it was a single parent. I think the media would have been much more harsh on them, even though really, as highly educated members of society, they are the ones that should know better.

What I cannot fathom is. It IS against the law in that country to leave children so young alone so WhY haven't the police in that country done something. There is no age limit set in this country which is a sin in it's self and it needs changing NOW. But that law is already set over there. Something odd is afoot.

Very well put argument Dave. Of course the press would have eaten carers alive for the exact same behaviour. I suspect the McCanns would be leading the charge too! Does anyone really imagine they would have any sympathy for carers that lost their child?! They MUST face justice for Madeleine's and future children's sakes as they are showing NO REMORSE WHATSOEVER for their actions, they just offer excuses for their self-indulgent behaviour..
