Let alone the fact that the quote is another Bush administration lie:

In fact Ahmadinejad said:
"the regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time"
ie it was a rejection of a political ideology

Because we supply Israel with weapons and billions in aid they are our "friends". The US hates Iran because we can no longer control them the way we used to before the overthrow of the Shah. Besides, look at all the money Bush could loot from Iran if he had the chance.

Google "operation ajax".

Far as I know Israel has never said anything about wiping Palestinians of the map.. Though at times it must be sorely tempted to drop a couple of neutron bombs on Gaza to quell the Palestinian hoards.

In effect what's happening is Israel is defending its self from terrorists, (Palestinians groups hamas and fatah are terrorists) who continue to fire rockets into Israel even though a cease fire is supposed to be operational. Iran having both religious and political links to Arab countries sees Israel as being the cause of all the problems in the middle east and sees it has a proxy state supported unconditionally by the US.

The international animosity between Iran and US over nuclear weapons and power is well documented, Iran uses rhetoric to threaten Israel while thumbing its political nose at the US. The effect of this is to add fuel to an already burning fire, which could get out of control at any moment.

In reality Palestinians are their own worst enemies, they continue to fire rockets at Israel, they continue to fight among themselves in religious and clan type disputes. (hamas and fatah) - who can wonder that they are making no progress with Israel politically!!. Israel is showing remarkable restraint considering the continuous provocation's.

Everyone except the Palestinians knows that peace in the area can only come by accepting a political solution and sticking to agreements, anything else will only lead to further blood shed for both Palestinians and Israeli peoples. and Iranians should its stance move from political posturing. to more war like activity.

Because one is an Idol threat, just a show of Bravado.

The other is a matter of fact, happening right now, essentially the torturing of over a million people. Made homeless, living in cramped conditions under threat of an air strike at any time, with very little food.

Imadinnerjob is the anti-Bush, and they're both bananas, and you are bananas, too, if you're squeezing rationalization into the words of Imadinnerjob. Here is a man who denies that the Holocaust occurred -- and don't you try it, either.

Semantics be damned, the stated goal of Imadinnerjob and his rabble rallies, as well as Hezbollah, Hamas and other Muslims is the destruction of Israel, which can't actually be accomplished without the destruction of Israelis.

For some, it is so much easier to hate and to focus hatred than to meet the challenge of co-existence.

Israel is not trying to wipe Palestine off the map. They are happy to live next to a peaceful Palestine. There are many Israeli Arabs that live peaceful and prosperous lives inside Israel and contribute at all levels of society from government ministers to labourers. While the religious fanatics ruling in Tehran are unable to tolerate Jews(Israeli or not), Christians, or any other religious or ethnic living amongst them. You are just tapping in the the propaganda of the militant Islamic racists.

Iran sees itself "leader of Arabs". on the other hand, Israel just sees itself a nation state. Palestinian has just remained itself "refugee in Israel"
