before and now I'm worried. I went to the ER the other night and the nurse did a blood test where they collected a good amount of blood from my hand. They tested to see if I was pregnant, they also checked my cells. He said I wasn't pregnant, he said my tests were all normal. Except for the fact I have DUB - Dysfunctional Utrine Bleeding. He said I should take birth control to regulate my periods. Now my question is this - Since they checked my blood for cells and sickness, does that mean I'm safe and everything since he ruled out DUB? I just want to make sure he tested for the right things. Also, I've never experioenced the abnormal periods prior to this and the last month. The DUB just started bothering me last month. Am I okay? Is it just DUB? Thank you.

I heard and read that if DUB was ruled out, that means I don't have any tumor or disease. Is this true?

If there was a chance for disease... wouldn't the blood test show some strange blood cells? Also, my age is 20. I'm only sexual active with one man, and he is faithful to me as well. Thank you for the replies!

It's possible that you could have an infection going on. The only way to find out for sure is to follow up with your local dr to see what they think is going on.

DUB is the name for anything other than your regular period...meaning just what it stands for "dysfunctional uterine bleeding". It does not mean you have or don't have tumors, STD, HIV, or other sexually transmitted diseases.
The ER is not the place for this type of problem. Your GYN is.
Call them and make an appointment.
