its not like i really hate her or anything but when i was in my teens and childhood years i just thought my mum was great. now that im older she just seems like she thinks she knows everything but now i know she is usually wrong. i used to have such blind faith in her and now i wonder how many bad decisions i made because i listened to her.

does anyone else ever feel like this?

No, actually I really like my mom now! She is hilarious and is kind of softening up in her ways as she ages. She is much more open minded and free in her speech. Most people think I'm crazy and say they could never do it but I actually live with my mom and my teen son. We drive each other nuts some days but in general its aweome, we laugh alot and work together and tease each other. I actually spend a lot of time with her, shopping etc. and I don't mind at all, even enjoy her company. Of course there are days where I could ring her neck and her mine I sure but time passes. Most of the time
we agree on stuff and make decisions together, and she has been a tremendous support for my son, yet she still allows me complete parental run of him, she pops an idea in now and then BUT never a "I told you so" or "You should have" I'm the parent she is the grandparent and thats that.
Where as when I was much younger say in my teens or even younger, she was "MOM" and bloody hell was she demanding, and controlling, and well, a "MOM" in a rebellious teenage girls eyes.
I also think it might have something to do with her age, see she was 40 when she had me, so now she is in her late 70's, I think she realizes and/or is realizing her mortality and she realizes she may not have always be right, or did things the "correct" way with us kids, as I do believe she is incredibly proud of me for raising my son in to the wonderful young man he is and all on my own!!!

It is kind of interesting to look at things from different peoples experiences and points of view isn't it???

They have a sixth sense, I believe, and what they do say and what happens, happens for the best.
