Actually, I don't find their new material as fantastic as the older one but it can't be helped 'cus the whole mainstream music went downhill after the 80's and that doesn't mean that their new material isn't great. But I like the way they maintained keeping up with the wave and not selling out nor hide away like most bands did... In other words I guess they're doing a great job in coping with the changes.

And isn't there any male who likes Bon Jovi (the band)? I can hardly find!!

Fight the Power: Actually I'm 16, you can say a new fan but I don't know why I find my self more into 80's Metal and Glam Rock, it was way better than today's crap although there are some bands who're good anyway, thanks for answering.

To me, Bon Jovi has always been a band where only their music matters, vocal and instruments. And yeah, it's great to see how the band has survived from their 80's hair band days to where they are today, and I could only see improvement in Jon Bon Jovi's song writing and composing capabilities. To me I felt that with each album, the got more matured and it's more often than never is a better album than the last one. Have A Nice Day was one of the best album I've heard, and songs like Welcome To Wherever You Are and Who Say You Can't Go Home is to me, one of their greatest song.

Well, I haven't heard their new album yet except for their performance in American Idol thought.

But yeah, I think anyone who have followed the band from their first album to today, they'd realize its amazing how Bon Jovi manage to follow all these changes and they did it pretty well. Comparing their first album to Have a Nice Day, it's like a completely different band, except for Jon's vocal. It's such a big change, I think the reason why they manage is they did it gradually. Unlike many artist today who sometimes decide to experiment with new sounds and suddenly change their music genre, Bon Jovi changed little by little with each new album, and they went the right direction.

Every era of music has at least one band that survives the test of time...the 50's had Elvis, the 60's had the Rolling Stones,The 70's had a few The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac being probably the two that can still sell out arena's, and the 80's had Bon Jovi, and I guess you could maybe throw Ozzy in there because his solo carrer success was in the 80's,but technicly he got his major break with Black Sabbath in 1970. Bon Jovi has done a good job changing their music just enough so old fans still like them, and they pick up some new fans.

They did a great job surviving all the changes in music. They survived the grunge era and now they are surviving the ear-bleedingly bad sissy emo rock era. They still draw 20,000 people to their outdoor summer concerts and they are always bringing in fans from the current generation. They did it in the 90s and they are doing it now thanks, in part, to their exposure on CMT. So many other bands have come and gone during Bon Jovi's career. Look at some of the big ones who were on top and are now struggling to keep a widespread fan base: Pearl Jam -- their popularity has crashed down many levels. Metallica has angered many of their original fans with their horrid recent music. Van Halen can't keep or find a singer. I'd say Bon Jovi has done a geat job adjusting to the times and still doing what they like to do best.

Listen, any band from that genre that didn't sell out and can still play stadiums in this day and age is an absolute sucess. Kurt Nobrain and Nivrana killed this kind of music in general, and that makes me sad, because there's some really talented acts out there that enjoyed some limited sucess in the late 80s early 90s until grunge took over, and now they're playing little dinky clubs - (Danger Danger comes to mind) if it all, or they totally sold out to fill today's trends (Faster Pussycat sums that up.)

Most guys put up with Bon Jovi because their girlfriends/wives LOVE them. Shame. They're talented guys.

although never one of my favourite band out there i do have to give Bon Jovi credit for being able to but out hit music year after year. They are one of the few "hair" bands that will still sell out a show performing new material and not trying to relive their glory years.

"Not selling out"??

lol!!!

Bon Jovi were a mainstream band from Day One, kid.
They were tailor MADE for MTV. Why do you think you're having so much trouble finding male fans? Their fan base was def' mainly female because when they came around in the 80s, pretty boy Jon was the selling point.

I never liked hair metal one bit. Without Jon, I highly doubt they'd survive this change in music you mentioned.
