personally i dont but many girls in my class act that way and then wear clothes with half their stuff poppin out they think that boys that and they make fun of me as i hate dressin that way or acting that way .....

I don't think that girls become tomboys its just something that is apart of everyday life, the genders roles have changed over the last 40yrs and society on a whole is tougher and girls today are simply a bit more rough and ready. I 'm not a girly girl myself and i never have been, and i'm not a lesbian. I just like to be comfortable and i enjoy the fact that when i go out I'm all girl and look completely diferent, or even absulutley fabulous.
Please bear in mind that gilrs hang out with boys and if there running around amoungst a group of boys they don't want to be in a skirt or shoes and its alot more comfy in jeans, t-shirt and trainers.
Sorry to burst your bubble but my partner loves me for me not for the clothes i wear. I wear my clothes my clothes don't wear me. A t-shirt can be loose or tight, jeans can too and trainers can be simply and neat.

Ya guys should know that any woman with a brain in her head isn't going to give a damn whether or not she's pleasing a guy with her level of femininity - and she'll get the guy anyway ;)
As for why?
1) Try heels for a day.
2) Try a dress.
3) Get your eyebrows waxed.
4) Get your hair/nails done.
5) Be a girl.
Then you can ask why we're becoming so tomboyish.

Well, I think it all depends on what your opinion of a tomboy is. I think a lot of girls play sports, which may be considered tomboyish, but girls like to play for the same reason boys do, because they're fun.
Also, some people probably consider wearing comfortable cloths tomboyish, but girls, again like boys, like to wear them because they're comfortable.
And finally I don't think girls should do or not do anything based on what boys like. I think people, both girls and boys, should do what they like for themselves.

i am a tomboy in the way i act i have never had a problem with the boys coz i grew up with all brothers i cant say anything for other girls but i just find that guys like me 4 who i am not the way i look

Simple, its a fashion trend. Just like in the 50's girls would have worn lots of petticoats, and frilly dresses. In the 60's it was long hair and long free flowing clothes. 70's was glitz and glamour, sequins and satin.
If you can wait long enough, it will all come round again. If you can't, just enjoy the way they are today.

What boys like isn't my primary concern.
They can just suck it up!
Finally women have some of the freedom in their behavior, dress and pastimes, that men have enjoyed ALWAYS.

Because they can and it makes them feel comfortable.
Its expensive to keep up a "girly girl" look. From clothes to grooming (manicures, hair, makeup etc).

one kind is the BUTCH, the lesbian tomboy
the other is the normal girl but who likes to behave like a boy.

They admire us guys, because we can play sports like football without even worrying of trapping the ball with our chess. That also goes in other sports. But it doesn't always have something to do with sports.
