We are decluttering at the moment so are taking quite a bit to the charity shop.
Needless to say. we also end up buying a few bits At the same time!!
I think that charity shop giving and buying not only makes financial sense but also is an environmentally good thing to do as some stuff might just get put into the rubbish because we don't personally know someone who wants it.

Yes I have and I dont feel ashamed. Some of the stuff is brand new, still with Labels on from Top Shop and New Look etc. Why not if it helps raise some money for charity - plus you get a great bargain!!
I think that the people who turn their nose up at a charity shop dont turn their nose up at a vintage store where the celebrity shops!

Why feel ashamed? Ebay is exactly the same! You're buying secondhand stuff...yet the 'charity' is the person you are buying from lol :-P
Do you feel ashamed in case someone spots you going into the shop? A damn good place to go for charity shops is St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. They have at least 13 (at last count) and as it is an affluent area, there are loads of bargains to be made!!

I buy at least 90% of my clothes from charity shops. Why would you feel ashamed to enter one? My conscience won't let me buy new clothes when I can get used ones at a fraction of the cost and know that my money will help someone who isn't as lucky as me. It has nothing to do with being 'stiggy', there are some fabulous charity shops in Highgate and Kensington in London that sell designer clothes if that's what you are after. I'm a bit of a hippy so I prefer to buy something that has already been worn in and is not in fashion.

I go to charity shops all the time and don't feel ashamed at all. It's all about recycling and helping others (as well as finding good bargains!)

I shop at our GoodWill store and find all kinds of items I can use as promo's for my business and I've also found great items that I have re-sold on Ebay for 10X what I paid for it.
So, it's helps out the community and I get a bargain also. No, I'm not ashamed to shop there. My husband is, but I'm not.

Yes go to charity shops quite often - they are very good for books etc although the mens clothing at times is not the best - they are ethically good, environmentally friendly (recycling the stuff) and cheap. The best thing is the unpredictability as the stock is constantly changing

I've shopped in charity shops for years. They are a great source of clothes if you want to look individual. It's also a good way of recycling. There's no shame in it what so ever, there's more shame in buying clothes that you are told you need to look bling.
