I want to work there as my first job at 16. However, I do not want to clean toilets or cook. I just want to be a cashier. Is that possible? How much money would I make an hour?

If I quit, and I do not put it on my next job application, who is going to find out?

I also know the owner of the store, maybe that should help not having to clean or cook. I want to make money, but I do not want to do jobs I should not be doing. I feel my education has allowed me so far to not clean toilerts. :) I could work elsewhere but this is closer to my house so its easier.

Eventually your going to have to mop or clean something even if you only work cashier. Its just the way it goes. You also will start at minimum wage or maybe slightly higher then that.

Depending on location, you may make more than minimum, but you won't get rich.
Working at McDonald's usually requires flexibility. New hires usually start out on fries or cleaning and stocking the lobby.
If you only want to cashier maybe you should look into being a bank teller, it pays better and has better benefits. They will not ask you to clean toilets or cook. Hostess or cashier at a sit down restaurant might also be a good fit.

There desires to be a 2 twelve months moratorium on the employer or enforcement of any minimum salary regulation. because it presently stands, the minimum salary is the main significant barrier to new workers potential to pass into the artwork-rigidity. to no longer point out that the regulation additionally creates a man made salary ceiling. A actuality which people who prefer government expansion and intrusion are prepared to ignore approximately. After 2 years states and communities can set their own minimum salary standards, if the elect to achieve this. the federal government will pass away this as much as the states, and enact no national minimum salary.

If you think you're too good to clean toilets or cook, then you're the not the kind of person I'd hire. Leadership means that you do whatever it takes to get the job done - even cleaning toilets.
John Wooden, who won 10 national championships at UCLA, swept the floor of the gym himself.
I hope you clean a few toilets in the next couple of years. I hope you learn this lesson before you get out into the real world.

First, if you want to work at a fast food, expect to cook & clean. If you can talk to the manager and let him know about your preference then maybe you'll get to be just a cashier. Being a cashier sound too boring...the more things you do in life, the smarter you'll get. About salary, you'll start with a minimum ...of course.

You're looking at minimum wage. And did you know Jim Carrey's father was a janitor and he helped on jobs so he could finish faster and clean more bathrooms just to get more money and stop living in their car. Do yourself a favor, clean a few toilets and in your 2nd or 3rd job, if you have any aspirations of moving on, you'll appreciate what you've accomplished and how far you've come.

My daughter (age 16) works at a pizza place as a "fronter".
She seats people and takes phone orders. She never thought that part of that job was cleaning toilets, but she does it. She also got a huge raise when the time came.

You would make minimum wage and if the manager tells you to clean toilets; you just have to our you will get fired. That will not look very good on your next resume.
